http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...ampton-after-title-blow-against-a3216856.html Harry Kane wants us to win tomorrow....that's nice of him.
The very lovely Mrs Godders did the shopping today and came home with a big bag of doughnuts which she says are for us to eat whilst listening to the game on the wireless. Apparently home fans at the game will be given doughnuts to eat by the owners but not our lovely boys who have made the effort to get to the game. I also believe beer is to be given out for free as well but I shall stick to my glass of scotch. We know what to do. At our home fixture against them next year our fans should be rewarded for their loyal support by being given Apfelstrudel or some other appropriate treat and a glass of asbach (our working class fans can have a glass of altbier).
Will be interesting to see the Leicester psychology after the Spuds draw. If they beat us then it's pretty much a coronation with the luxury of probably only needing three wins from the last six games. Think we'll have to try and survive the first half and hope the enormity of the result and the pressure to not lose takes them over.
Well, what do you expect? In all honesty we are not exactly the most interesting 'story' this season. You have Leicester, Spurs, and West Ham all grabbing headlines and playing brilliantly. Then you have the demise of the current champions Chelsea, and both the Manchester clubs, the possibility of Newcastle and Sunderland scrapping it out to the death, and Aston Villa dropping out of the Prem for the first time ever. And on top of all that you have new-boys Watford and Bournemouth having excellent seasons. That's eleven teams who are more 'interesting' than Saints right now, and that's without even discussing the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton. Let's face it, to the average football fan, Saints are not the exciting package we were over the last two seasons. They probably think of us in the same way that we think about Swansea. Or West Brom.
I think it has been a wonderful season and even more so when you think that the match between Saints and Leicester is a more important game than Manchester United against Everton.
That's a bit extreme! I was on a Leicester forum earlier, and we are seen in very high regard. We win and we'll certainly become more interesting. The match has certainly become that bit more important over the last 24 hrs.
I will be watching from the comfort of my sofa, whilst the wife is cooking a roast lamb dinner ......nom nom.
I understand that we aren't of particular interest this season with so many strange things going on (as Black said). However, it is a compliment to us that no one would think it strange if we got into Europe and regard us as perfectly capable of beating the top team. We are seen as a possibly tough opponent for anyone (personally I think that depends which Saints team turn up)....yesterday it was pointed out on Sky that Newcastle's next game is against us....there was synchronised teeth sucking all round. Our rise in the EPL may not be as precipitous as Leicester, but we have made it to being a fully accepted good EPL side in a few years.
Match Day! And only a 40 minute journey for a change.......if last season is anything to go by, the atmosphere is going to be immense. Going to be a real tight game....1-0 either way
About 90% of football fans would like to see us lose this one. As much as I don't mind if Leicester are champions, let's keep our run going and upset the rest of the country. COYR
I am aware that we won't be popular if we win today, but, hey, I can live with that. We can make it up to football fans by pushing United out of the European places by the end of the season.
