Interesting. I wouldn't be too worried if DT and SM's noses are out of joint. They've been underperforming for ages and are prone to a sulk. Although, I know he divides people but if someone like JWP thought the manager's conduct was odd or unfair then that would make me give it a think. But, he is Ronald Koeman... (although that doesn't excuse bad man management)
I can believe Koeman is a bit abrasive. We've seen his direct style in interviews after all. Mind you being abrasive didn't do that Ferguson fella much harm at Man Utd.
He's also Dutch. Anyone ever met a Dutch person who doesn't sound abrupt? It's part of their make up.
'Hey guys, we've not run a story on a Southampton player leaving for a few days....have a look and see who we could suggest wants to leave couldyou?' 'They all seem pretty happy at the moment, they beat Liverpool 3-2 last game remember' 'Hmmmm yes I remember....who did they take off at half time? We'll say Koeman blamed them for being 2-0 down' 'Good idea! We could say Tadic did it on purpose becuase he wants to join Liverpool in the Summer?' 'Yeesssss, but let's save that bit for next week when we're struggling to work out who wants to leave straight after they've beaten Leicester'
Ha, true. They generally don't beat around the bush. I do remember reading something from Feyenoord fans about Ronald getting stuck into players, also in the media, which puts noses out of joint.
Heh, we've had Koeman and the board negotiating through the media, I guess it's only fair for the players to jump in.
He's demanding greatness out of them, rather than the pretty football they want to play. Tough being a footballer, ain't it?
Dusan has lost his spot in the national team as well, so understandable that he is not in a great frame of mind right now
Yeah, I have a little bit of sympathy for Tadic because he suits one of our regular formations very well but there's really no spot for him in the other.
Too be honest if it's between Dusan, Sadio and Ron, then Ron wins....I don't imagine that JWP is causing a stir, he just isn't the type. Koeman has done an unbelievable job rebuilding the squad and i'm sure that he will be given funds for replacements if required.
They don't even bother to offer any evidence. Not even a mention of the good old "source close to the club". Safe to file this under Bollocks, I think.
Lawrie Mac wasn't shy in putting players in their place when he needed to and there were a few big egos in his teams.
Tadic played left and right last season. I think the consensus is that he performs better on the left but put in some good shifts on the right last year overlapping w Clyne. This sounds like nonsense without looking at our change of formation and the lack of space in there for Tadic.
We've all been a bit puzzled by Tadic as he does appear to be out of favour. However, we should remember that he has had a row with his international team coach as well. And Ron doesn't take nonsense as we know. Unlike some managers, he doesn't slag off players in public and generally turns round criticism by the media into a team thing, but he is willing to drop someone who doesn't obey rules....like Mane before an important match. As for the reference to JWP and Mane...that's an add on...Anyone else unhappy? Yes, Mane and James. There are no quotes from them. It sounds less like an interview and more like overhearing a private conversation in a bar. I suspect that Tadic will be informed by Ronald that if he has anything to say he says it to him.
Can see Tadic being dropped from the bench too as a reminder by Ron as to who is the boss in this club
No one is sacrosanct at our club. Tadic and Mane used to be first names on the team sheet, but Ron has had to do team changes to overcome our inconsistencies. He is not a manager afraid to experiment if he feels it is necessary, so there may be casualties on the way. Koeman won't apologise for that either....it is the team first every time, not the individual players. JWP is getting a fair bit of game time, so Ron appreciates him...so can't see him moaning (at least in public).
