Snodgrass was excellent in the first half, though overall Aluko probably deserves the MOTM. A good all round team performance, and nice to see Aluko getting back to his best.
I think he'll go, but if it's for the best for us, I'm not convinced. Unless we're sold to someone prepared to spunk money over us, I can't see us getting anyone better. Best we can hope for is someone young looking to make a mark for themselves, like Parky all those years ago. Remember how that turned out? Like I say, I think he'll go, I'll be sad, then I'll be concerned about who we replace him with.
IF SB goes in the summer. then the last thing we need in someone as inexperienced as Parkinson was when he was appointed. If they are still available could we get a Tim Sherwood, Gary Monk or maybe prize Gary Rowett from Birmingham?
If we're struggling to find someone we can fly our own MB's Aussie Mourinho over ...... job sorted Happ, it's a good un'.
I think if we go up, the Allams have no need to sell, and Bruce will stay. If we don't go up, I don't think Bruce will have the appetite for another year in the Championship, especially with how strong it is likely to be, with Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland looking more and more doomed. I don't think the Allams will sack Bruce if we don't go up. Not sure how long Bruce has left on his conetract?
Allam won't sack SB in my opinion. If SB isn't our manager next season it will be because he has walked
Bruce will go come what may - he's stale, he only has one plan and he only has three excuses - it's time for someone else to put up with him - if we don't go up, he deserves to go - if we go up he will want to leave on a high and find a fresh challenge for Junior and himself
By the sounds of it John, that conversation happened at the start of this season. From brucies interview I'd agree with OLM it sounds like he's gone. He spoke about not leaving this season but didn't commit to next season, he didn't rule out villa so from that I concluded he might want that job but not while the summer. Villa or not he won't be here
Wasn't at the game today so am relying on the forum here for an overview of the game. Obviously glad of the points just a bugger that Burnley equalised late late late again. I was talking to Tom Cairney this morning in a breakfast place on Tottenham Court Road and he told me he thinks we'll still go up. Let's hope we get the points and this next 6/7/8 game spell is without blemish.
Hopefully he scores 60 or 70 goals and finishes top scorer as I stuck a 5er on him e/w at the start of the season at some silly big odds. Given his form in our last championship, it was well worth a ripple, hindsight or not.
I don't think Bruce will get a job with a Premier League club if it's not City. Hasn't he got another two years on his contract? But contracts have all sorts of clauses in them nowadays. Bruce refused to reveal his.
Long term reader first time poster. I agree think Bruce is gone at the end of the season. For me he's been on a steady decline since we got in the premiership the first season. Second season our biggest transfer window ever and we get relegated. This season with arguably a very strong team we are 4th in the championship. Although as allways no right to be on top I think most would say we are lower than where we should be. A last note, this is Bruces assembled squad but for the last two games we have not started with a recognised striker, that's crazy and perhaps tells us a lot about Bruces recruitment policy during his time with us.
