Now on my way home after that pulsating game. Newcastle and Sunderland can't now catch us with their game in hand!!! I can't believe it, 3-2 was about the only scoreline I didn't bet on and if we'd scored one more goal, I'd be going home £160 better off!!! VERY happy with the 3 points though!! Well done on the Match Day Thread KIO - WE WON!!!!
Thoughts from AN - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...nst_newcastle_in_a_carrow_road_epic_1_4480744 Norwich - 21 Sunderland -19 Newcastle - 27 Aston Villa - 40 Our GD compared to Newcastle's is worth an extra point I reckon.
They're hurting right now, they had the sort of game against WBA that we have had in the past, absolutely dominated the game but found the goalie in world class form!
He'd be the first name on my team sheet at the moment He was totally inspired in the last couple of games vs NCFC!
I would have loved to have this fellow here, he obviously loves us too! http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/04/02/daniel-pacheco-reacts-on-twitter-to-norwich-win/?
Has anyone else played as few games (6) for us but developed such a long-lasting relationship with a club? Seemed to be a hot prospect when he joined us, 2 goals and an assist in his 6 games, and his career in the Spanish youth teams was pretty respectable. Since then though, his career seemed to have stalled, and it's taken him a while to find a run of games. This season though, he's transitioned from a striker/central attacking midfielder into a left winger and seems to be flourishing at the top club in the Segunda division. Only on loan there though from Betis, hopefully that doesn't effect him getting game-time next season.
He did indeed, his was the 5th. His other goal came vs Coventry. That does beg a question then, who made the fewest appearances for Norwich and managed to score in a derby?
Trying to answer my own question, since easy stats run out around 1992, all I've got since then are Jonatan Johansson (12 city appearances) and David Mooney (9). Seeing as my Norwich memory doesn't go further, I guess that's left as an exercise for the reader. Pacheco currently leads!
Ruddy look like a scared rabbit today, his kicking was atrocious, I'm seriously worried when he's in the team, our new vastly improved defence is helping him out, but he looks like the weak link now.Thought Naismith was average, he didn't seem to control the ball, then when he did he gave it away. Result was brilliant, maybe our luck has changed.
Have to disagree about Naismith. He was pressing and harassing the Newcastle players, getting back to defend, getting forward and linking up with Mbokani really well. Thought he had a really good game.
Considering that he was coming back after hamstring injury, I thought he work rate was amazing and the link-up play with Mbokani suggested that they had been playing together for ages. The commentators on my stream were full of praise for him when he went off. It's funny how people can see something so totally different.
I'm watching it again on sky's game of the day, the commentators also praising him. But still, I respect others opinions even if I do disagree. Like you say, he's coming back from an injury, so it's a promising performance and hopefully can keep that up.
