The problem is that when we sit deep, the players panic and start playing long balls which is lack of confidence imo. Having a keeper who can pick out a safc player doesnt help. If the players stopped panicking we wouldnt see as many long balls, and could use Borini and Khazri more effectively.

Jozy was ****, for sure. My larger point was, we don't want either back.

My point exactly. It makes it a matter of when we concede not if. Once we're forced deep we really struggle to recover any hold on the game

Just look at the way we conceded late goals to WHU and NUFC, PvA trying to play football in the wrong area and circumstances, PvA down injured so N'Doye has to fill in and he proved he is no defender. Possible five points lost to circumstances rather than bad play. Mistakes happen and part of the game, but bad football is created and we have not been bad over the last six games.

I hope we can sort out the panic without having to resort to buying another target man who cant score goals. Seen enough of them types of player. N'Doye might do a decent job if played in a central target man role (and if you dont expect many goals from him), but with our current formation we cant afford to sacrifice a winger.

3-5-2 is the way to go imo, but its a big risk especially to change formation now when, overall, our performances havent been bad recently. how about this? unrealistic maybe, but the pace in that team would be scary.

    Kone, Kirchoff, Kaboul

    Yedlin, M'Villa, PvA
    Borini Khazri

    Defoe, N'Doye

Agree he had good close control hold up play but completely lost the plot when facing goal - also our goal machine is courtesy of his loss - a very good deal indeed

You would think BSA Would Know N'Doyle was a CF forward not a wide foward or a full back :headbang: ' needs to look at his optima stats - but hopefully he'll change today - infact needs to :emoticon-0148-yes:

Missed this but saw it in a quote. You've got to be kidding? Bendtner was a very good Prem back to goal forward Jozy wasn't. Since, well there's a massive difference between the Bundesliga and the MLS.

    Premier League
    Bundesliga
    Seria A

    = Elite Leagues

    MLS
    Eredivisie

    = Fizzy Pop leagues.

Don't rate Bendter at all, this was the most dramatic way to say it. Didn't he score zero goals in Seria A, and just a couple in Bundesliga? In any event, your point about sitting deep is accurate watching the games, but Bendtner would be a horrible attempt at a solution imo.

How people are even comparing Altidore with Bendtner is beyond me.

Altidore is a joke of a footballer. Bendtner has had a canny career. If it weren't for his ego he'd probably have had a better career to date.

I'm not saying Bendtner is a world beater by any stretch, but he's 10 times the player Jozy is.

For the record, Jozy was/is ****. I think Bendtner is ****, therefore I compared them. That's all.

Bendtner seems to have a similar attitude to that of Connor Whickham, no Wycombe, no Wigham, no Wigwam . . . . that Connor lad that used to play for us (anything but Wickham :emoticon-0100-smile) in that he seems to think that the game owes him everything 'cos he's fecking brilliant <doh>

He's got lots of ability, but he's a lazy twat with a disgusting attitude :emoticon-0101-sadsm

At least he has some footballing ability, though, whereas Dozey Jozey hasn't :emoticon-0145-shake

I really like the look of this and have Jos, Lens Toy and Catts on the bench.

He only made a couple of starts in Italy and his bundesliga goals out score Jozy's Premier League goals by about 7 or 8 times(in less games). We don't agree fair dos but I'm the comparison was frankly laughable and made a mockery of my point. Jozy makes Thomas Hauser, Lee Howey look like world beaters

Anyway, looking at the today we're going with the no solution at all route and heading down in the process. <doh>
