According to The Times this morning, the following European citizens would no longer have automatic right to play for us. If we left the EU and wanted them to play for us we would have to appeal. This would affect

    Olsson
    Pinto
    Odjidja-Ofoe

    Could lead to problems..

Surely that would only apply to new additions! you can't deport someone halfway through contract!

I shouldn't worry about it mate, the apathetic electorate of the UK will undoubtedly vote to remain the lap dogs of the Germans and the French. Makes me want to weep but at least I won't have it on my conscience when everything goes tits up ;)

It would. Then the process would be similar to the work permit clearance for players from the rest of the world.

Hopefully that would prevent the influx of average European players giving greater chances to young British players. But still allow for bringing in top exciting players.

It will take us at least two to three years to negotiate our exit
Doubt any players contracts are that long

I feel so passionate about leaving the EU that I would even vote to leave if I was going to be financially worse off. My parents didn't vote for a European super state, they voted for a 'common market'. We're better off on our own negotiating our own trade deals, fcuk the whole unelected lot of 'em.
The scaremongering that the Government is trying to stir up beggars belief, well I've got news for you Mr Cameron I don't care how much worse off I'm going to be (allegedly), I want my country back !

Hi bors, This was a comment I made in the Associated Word thread today on this forum.

"I see the BBC are quoting that foreign players will not be allowed in our football league if we vote to leave the EU. Does that mean all our nationals living in the EU will have to return to the UK. I have booked a holiday in Spain in September, will I be banned from the EU ?

    BBC... Biased Broadcasting Corporation."

The scaremongers say we will be losing thousands of jobs if we leave the EU. What they don't say is the thousands of jobs we have recently lost when we are IN the EU. Probably these loses don't count.

I'm with you KIO. I voted to join the EEC, this country never has had a referendum to JOIN the EU. I too want our country back.

Those who vote IN should take a trip to the War Cemeteries at Bayeux and Monte Casino and ask those young men interred there if they considered the sacrifice they made was necessary considering the IN crowd want to hand over our sovereignty to Brussels.

Anyone have any idea how many players are refused a work permit? I can't think of very many, so believe this story is not really that much of a story at all, and suspect as Norkie suggests is little more than scaremonger in an attempt to appeal to the emotions of football fans.

Multiple. Mbokani was refused a work permit in the first instance. Many players clubs just don't bother going for though, because they know a work permit won't be granted

It seems to me that your view is closer to Hitler's KIO.

Good to get back to the actual subject, Rob. The impact wouldn't be on the big clubs, who recruit the top players. Smaller clubs would feel the pinch for sure.

It was apathy that refused to acknowledge the rise of the third Reich. C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_cologne-pegida-2_3545438e.jpg

    For goodness' sake.

There are DOZENS of arguably valid reasons for supporting the leave campaign, but if this is the one you're going to put forward, KIO, then I'll leave you to it.
