Well I'm confident of three points but it's just a 'gut feeling' as for the last couple of months we've been 'carrying' Hernandez. And whereas I cannot see goals coming from Aluko, Diomande or Akpom, if the team start working as a team instead of a set of individuals, then I can see sheer pressure getting the goals we need from the midfield. It's up to the team now to give this 'possession football' the @rse and start working to and off each other - 3 goals in 9 games is just not good enough.
I'm not sure what he is thinking at times, but surely we need to play an attacking system with 2 up and not the predictable formation set-up for Diame
I think Akpom can score goals if he gets and stays in the team till the end of the season but again that's a 'gut feeling' like yours about the result. Aluko can contribute too but not as a centre-forward, it seems blindingly obvious now that he could useful out wide as a sub
its strange for a man whos motto is always, you are only as good as your strikers.. we never seem to have many to choose from, ive believed all season we will go up because I thought we had the strongest squad, which I still think we have in all areas from the most important.
"Carrying Hernandez"? That would suggest others have been scoring goals for him and they haven't. If anything, before this goal drought, Hernandez was "carrying" the team.
Come on. We can do this! Let's be confident. A shaky March has gone. We tend to do alright in April don't we? (Ridiculous to even compare I know but new month, fresh start). The top of the table has been ours twice and we've let it slip both times. Doesn't matter, it's who's top at the end that counts. Something overlooked is a favour Wolves did last time out. We lost to Boro 1-0; however, Burnley were held back in the 91st minute by a Wolves equaliser to level it 1-1. They didn't take advantage. They're away to Brighton this weekend - both of them aren't winning. Our final game against the current Top Six is Tuesday. The rest of them are still to play each other at least twice more. (Boro's last four are against current top 8 sides, Brighton still have Burnley, Boro, Derby and Birmingham to play [all top 9 sides] and Burnley have Brighton, Cardiff, Boro and Birmingham - more Top 9 sides). Wolves currently in 12th will be our highest placed opponents after Derby. Let's do this. Dare to dream.
