If someone said you can have the title but no Kante next season Id say yes please. Great player that he is I'm sure we would find a replacement. maybe wouldn't play the same but Inler, James and whoever Walsh has lined up next will do.
Reason we got Kante in the first place was because James was injured - when he comes back, maybe he will have learnt a few things... Also I remember that we were after a guy called Mendy that was meant to be a better prospect at the same time. And maybe Inler will step up - if he is still here.
Jeez lads ... stop the gloom ... when he publicly states that he actually wants away I might just get a little irritated ... so far I would interpret his comments along the lines of ... not wanting to look too far ahead, just wanting to concentrate on the task in hand ... and that is all....
... he's at the beginning of a 4 year contract ... we would be asking mega bucks if anybody is serious ...
I think there will be 2 or 3 quality additions in the close season at least ... and not necessarily replacements ...
I'm hopeful that Liam Moore will step up - have a feeling that he isn't CR's type of player though which is why we are rumoured to be after Dragonov.
... think you might mean Dragovic .... I think Dragonov was a "Death-Eater" in the Harry Potter books ...
I wasn't being gloomy. Just saying it wouldn't be the end of the world if he left. I agree he has probably been misquoted and yes he is sensational. At 24 he can only get better as well but I would swap any player for a premier league title not that their mine to swap
Leicester news conference Leicester City v Southampton (Sun, 13:30 BST) please log in to view this image BBC Leicester Sport Posted at14:15 please log in to view this image Getty Images Claudio Ranieri was also asked about midfielder N'Golo Kante and his comments during the week about being unsure where he would be playing next term. The influential French international has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, among others. "He's working very well but if arrive some big team offers a lot of money we think about it," Ranieri said. "I don't want sad people here. I want happy. He's happy. Always smiling.” ... the last sentence sums it up really ...
He won't be here next season. I think the more worrying thing for me is how long it took to persuade him to come last summer so it's not surprising that he's the first to want out. Nobody's irreplaceable though
Sell him if he doesn't want to be here. Start a bidding war with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Arsenal, PSG, Barca and whoever else might be interested. I'd want £40m at least. Just want another seven more games like he's given us so far first though, please.
wow ... where do you read he wants out? ... Ranieri's comments are that he won't keep players here that are not happy ... but that Kante is very happy ... of course he won't rule out a move if the player is unhappy AND the club's valuation is met ... ... Kante did take his time in signing for us, true enough ... can't really blame him for not having heard of us and he was also being courted by Marseilles (in his own country) ... but in his own words, once he had come over and seen our facilities, stadium etc it convinced him to sign and he signed a 4 year deal ... every player has a price ... but we don't HAVE to sell him for anything other than top dollar ... I don't see it as a foregone conclusion that he will leave ... and our best chance of keeping him is if we are successful ... so even more incentive for everybody ...
I must just interpret it differently Fosse, I admire your optimism and really hope you're right though. I think my wording was misleading, I meant more that due to how long it too last summer it wouldn't surprise me if he does want out. Even Mahrez has done more to commit his future to us thus far
In fairness to Kante his English isn't great and before he pays much attention to next season he has 7 massive games for us and the Euro's to look forward to IF he does go then we will do a lot more then what we paid for him aswell
