The HDF and Swanny saying today that the 12th man can make all the difference on Saturday when we play Brizzle. With such huge importance, and with the general 'shenanigans' of recent weeks and months I felt it was vitally important I established whether the 12th man is indeed going on Saturday? If you are the 12th man; identify yourself, and put all our minds at rest and let us know you'll be there on Saturday? Cheers
Not sure about our 12th man but it seems the Fifth Man has certainly been attending this season which may explain the Blunt atmosphere.
There are a couple of lads in the east stand about halfway up around e8.they continually try get the atmosphere going.would be much quieter without them.well done whoever you are.your enthusiasm is well appreciated
I don't think some of our fans really understand this twelfth man thing. The first poster reckons that it is up to the team to score goals as goals make atmosphere. I always thought the idea was to generate atmosphere to inspire your team into scoring goals. But apparently the idea is to sit in silence until your team scores. No wonder the atmosphere at the KC is lacking. Although dispersing the West Upper fans to different parts is apparently going to improve the atmosphere at matches. Hmmmmm....
last couple of home games, the first misplaced pass of the game has had half the crowd jeering and giving out negative vibes as if showing utter contempt that we are not 3-0 up after 10 minutes.. cant be a great atmosphere to play in.
Well, no. Apparently it lets them know how 'we' feel and serves to improve their performance (as if they were unaware of how badly the game was going for us). However, I asked in another thread for someone to provide a quick list of games in which the fans booing had provided the stimulus for an improved performance. In case anyone missed that, they can provide that list here. Thanks in advance.
Can you provide a list of games where the team is inspired by people sitting in silence demanding to be entertained and see a goal before they can deign to make a noise?
Has there been any attempt at all by the club to pump up interest in tomorrows game ? If there has been then I have missed it. I don't count the usual speculative and not very helpful tosh about 'Will Bruce want the' Villa/Newcastle/any job but the one he has.' It is the start of a series of games that could decided the future of the club. First competitive game for a fortnight, the chance to get back into contention for automatic promotion, failing that and, (not again) a chance to cement a place in the Play Offs with a possible Wembley appearance . A re run of the 2008 Play Off Final tomorrow and so on..........Boro playing tonight and result pending could open the door for us again, loads to go on, returning international players.............but nothing to interest the local BBC ?
That would require initiative and marketing input; the fact nothing is happening highlights that City think they have marketing nous and skills, when in fact it's clearly obvious they make it up as they go along without any substantive research; the membership scheme being the latest cock up when it could have been so easy to get it right. With so many kids off school for Easter would have been an ideal opportunity to do 'something' to charge up the atmosphere!
I agree that something should have been done to get more in for tomorrow's game, but I believe there is something going on for three of the remaining five home games.
I hope there is but the problem is they don't usually let anyone know. I didn't know about the Under 21 game tomorrow until you posted on here. Why hasn't that been publicised ? Its free FFS.
