best player ive seen play against City was Lampard in our first ever Premier League season, I always thought he was overrated until that night..sometimes think it Was Torres but he was up against Sonko so maybe that doesn't count.

best player ive seen Live in general is probably Chris Waddle.

How weird is that, I thought exactly the same - ''fat Frank, wait till Ash crunches him a ****er'' I thought; as it turned out, Ash, nor any of our other midfielders got anywhere near him ........... it was a really impressive display of a midfielders talents.

You're right, that Lampard performance was incredible - no City player got within three yards of him all night. Strings well and truly pulled.

I once saw Ivan Zamorano score a four minute hat trick. That was an extraordinary effort, even for the late 80s Swiss League.

Of the recent times in the PL I also thought that David Silva at the KC was "untouchable" and passed by our players as if they weren't there that day.

Yeah I was gonna say that, he was the difference for them against us.

Time for a keeper and it's got to be Jaaskerlainen. Spelling?

I thought of Bert Trautmann but I only saw him in newsreels of the day. Especially of course when he played on in the Cup Final after receiving a broken neck in a collision. No subs in those days. Just had to Google to see the highlights of the game again versus Birmingham City.

The broken neck is an urban myth. It was just a neck injury.

Fat Ronaldo when he took Man United apart and Del Piero ran a game against them I went to.

Add to that, for us, okocha and against us recently Aguero and David Silva plus Rooney the night we lost 1-3 in 2009 was magnificent.

I'd agree with both of those.

Though I do remember a later game when some kid called Cairney mugged off Lampard a couple of times.

    Ones I've actually seen live...

Georgie Best (no one even close)
Raich Carter (even as an "old man" he dominated the field).
Stanley Matthews (never forgot that Blackpool v Bolton) cup final.
Pele (saw him in Giorgio Chinaglias benefit match before 70,000 in NY...Best was in the opposition..no comparison).
    Cruyff...
    Gerrard
    Tom Finney
Jimmy Greaves (the kind of striker that every team needs)
    Gazza
    Lampard
    Bobby Charlton
    Giggsy

Can't think of a No.1 GK....But for Hull City its Billy Bly hands down.
