Worked in a crisp factory a long time ago, I can imagine a potato or at least a large bit of potato making its way through the system, but it would be heavy enough to be spotted. Even if it made it to the shop, you would notice the weight when you bought it. Unlikely as you say.
I've worked on several computers using their high value motherboards, but never did I think Foxconn were big enough to buy out a Japanese technology giant, but they are going to. Sharp are being bought for £2.4B. When you think about it, when was the last Sharp product you bought.? They've been struggling. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-35923885
Jeff Stelling, running 10 marathons in 10 days for prostate cancer, has been interviewed on BBC R5L. A very worthy cause and huge progress is being made on it with cures if detected early enough. Typically, Jeff highlighted a less well known deed in that he mentioned Franny Benali, who he gave plaudits to for his previous run, and how Franny got up in the middle of the night recently while he was on holiday in Somerset and drove upto where Stelling was running that day and ran with him to support. Then he got back into his car and went back to Somerset. Not bad that bloke. And well done Jeff. Oh, and he thinks Rooney has to play well enough to get his England place back.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-35918470 A driver hits a large boulder in a road that has been there since the last ice age and wants it moved. Locals who have become very fond of their rock object. Council say that one accident in 11,000 years doesn't suggest that the rock should be moved. I love these oh so British incidents....other countries might have moved the boulder before they built the road, but not us....apart from a blip with the Romans, we have always loved our eccentric meandering byways. I would suggest however that it gets a little island to protect it from blind motorists.
In the old photo it appears to be accompanied by a period lampost. How about putting one of those back ?
On the Island, we had a tree in the middle of a narrow lane....one bit of the lane curved sharply round it, whilst the other bit of the lane went straight ahead. Confusing to nonlocals as they often ended up on the wrong side of the road facing oncoming traffic. Sadly came down a few years back in a storm....I think we should have replaced the tree instead of boringly straightening the road.
It's a remarkable feat to have, over time, transformed the perfectly workable "there is a very big rock in our town and we quite like it" to "there is a very big rock in the middle of the road with nothing save a couple orange cones to divert traffic and we intend to keep it that way".
I think the lamppost came first, and that's what stopped the rock. Unfortunately the lamppost was damaged in the process.
http://news.sky.com/story/1669618/dreadlock-row-video-investigated-by-college An article about a white person being stopped by a black woman objecting to his dreadlocks. This is in America, but believe me cultural appropriation has become an issue over here as well. Never heard of cultural appropriation....you probably only know sensible people. University students are trying to ban theme nights or fancy dress parties because someone, somewhere may be offended. Believe it or not, you shouldn't wear a sombrero in case you offend a Mexican. I think Mexicans would be more offended if you stopped buying sombreros on holiday.
I thought I was rather diplomatic. It was our resident 'rock' singer manager who gave you [and me] the hard time.
We had chat about scary animated films the other day, and LTL mentioned Watership Down. Well guess what: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35924936
Good grief ............ My daughter was more traumatised by Tarka the Otter than Watership Down ........... And (as was pointed out before I'm sure) was terrified by the witch in Disney's Snow White and upset by Bambi's mother dying ............ Life is tough - get over it people ...............
I've just watched the program shown on ITV last Good Friday on Britaons whales and then sharks. Oh my goodness. Incredible footage. So many sharks in UK waters.
