was on the train to my old neck of the woods in good old sidcup and got talking to the old bloke who got chucked out for having a go at parkinson last season, aparantly he said they kicked him out of the west to go in the east at least the old bloke got his season ticket back!
when i got off train friday in sidcup, first time been back since left my god has it changed?i walked down halfway street betabuys is gone now an indian restarunt, the coop still their, but after the newsagent and chemist that was about it i then popped down sidcup high street ,saw christian dailly comming out of summerfield with his wife in charlton tracksuit!sidcup high street has completly changed its all £1 shops.anyone else visited where they grew up as a kid and where they shocked when they returned back?
no seriously i met him on train from london bridge he said he couldnt stand parkinson got arrested and spent night in the cells his wife aparantly was furious well thats what he said on the train,he also said the car parks in sidcup have had an average of 6 cars a night stolen
Cannot see the old bill putting him a cell because he did'nt like Parky. Maybe if he had assaulted him or something, but surely not for just abusing him from the stands. Think he was telling you porkies.
well thats the impression i got from the conversation i had nice bloke though he said he just snapped and had enough of parkinson and just ran onto the pitch that was it he then said next thing he was being lead off by 2 coppers
That was definitely one of the highlights of last season. To think i'd actually forgotten about it until I read this thread - shows how much I've repressed all memories of last season I guess.
the funny thing is after he complained to the office about removal of season ticket they told him you cant sit in the west as he abused parky and moved him to the east
He was clearly a long-serving fan, the fact that he was removed from the stadium/had his season ticket taken in the first place was a bit ludicrous. I can understand that its a crime stepping into the dugout area, but he was on the wrong side of 60 and clearly wasn't a real danger.
Maybe, but the law is the law, irrespective of how old you are. If someone in their 20's had done the same thing they would probably have been charged and got a football banning order imposed on them.
Yeah that is true Rifleman, but I just feel that sometimes the law shouldn't be so black and white - I could understand if he was a 15 year old wannabe-Millwall fan, but a guy, clearly over 60 who has presumably spend thousands and thousands over the years to support Charlton should be entitled to a bit of leniency. Super, care to elaborate?...you little tease
What a tosspot mankini boy was. Heard that the FA were originally going to charge and fine the club due to that numpty's pitch invasion.
Too true, Rifleman. Considering the Millwall bottle throwing incident as well, we were lucky to escape considerable punishment.
Not much to elaborate on- was allowed back, got warned of conduct but they asked him to move away from the bench area. He didn't show up to the next game and everyone got high and mighty about him being not being allowed back. Rumour had it his missus asked him to stay away for a while.
