It's not just about bombs and bullets... Economic sanctions kill hundreds of thousands, Instability created by removing infrastructure, the arming and training of one faction who then become our enemy (see the Russian war in Afghanistan in the 80's) etc... It's a mess

You can't ban what somebody thinks or believes. All you do is drive it underground.

I don`t give a **** about islam. The only ones who do give a **** are muslims. They can piss off to Iraq, Iran, Syria wherever they want to and kill each other to their hearts content. I don`t give a toss. Let them get on with it. Screw allan and his snack bar. If they want to kill, do it somewhere else. The middle east will do just fine.

We banned Catholicism about 500 years ago.

It would be nice to think we've moved on from that sort of behaviour in that space of time.

Did we? 500 years you say?
I find that rather harsh Disc.
My best friend is Catholic & I worship the ground she walks on yet I'm atheist, hows that work?
My dad was a proddy, my mother spiritualist.
What a load of utter ****ing tosh.
    Anyway, have a nice night.

Not quite sure what you're talking about Billy. I didn't decide on the policy of Tudor England so it's not my harshness you need to call tosh.

Henry VIII banned Catholicism and practitioners were burnt at the stake as heretics under his and Elizabeth I' reigns.

I'm saying I'd like to think we're better than we were 500 years ago. We know the world's not flat. We should know not to ban or try to persecute people for their beliefs.

I have catholics, protestants and atheists in my family. I couldn't really give a **** what people choose to believe in.

    Cat amongst the pigeons time.

If you saw a mussie getting a kicking or worse.

Would you intervene to try and stop it?

    Would you report it?

Would you give evidence in court?

What's the circumstances of the kicking? If he's been taking pictures up womens skirts in the supermarket I'd probably stick my foot in his face.

If he's the local guy at my corner shop, getting a doing over by a chav who's hating on him for no reason, I'd help him for sure.

Religion would have nothing to do with my decision to help the person.

No mate, you've misunderstood me as a lot of people do.
What I meant was I don't give a frig about religion either.
If someone has faith then that's fine by me. I just have no time for it.
I wasn't saying what you said was tosh, I meant imo, all religions are tosh.

    They're all bullshit. Clearly.

People are weak and need something to believe in though.

religion taught me how to be a good person so i'm thankful i had that kind of upbringing but i no longer follow any religion as i don't feel there would be further benefit to me. when a religion requires you to be more civilised to an unseen deity than it does to your fellow man then it has lost it's meaning.

with regard to creationism etc. i find the 'Big Breath' theory most plausible. the 'big bang' is a term initially coined as derogatory but has become the most widely accepted even though scientists have moved away from this belief based on current scientific evidence.

I would treat them like a human being and help them as best i could. In my line of work, giving evidence against local criminals is part and parcel of the job, so that would not be a problem to me...
Now if you had said a known Muslim radical was getting a kicking, my answer would be different.

I know I am coming late to the party here, but you cannot prove something doesnt exist.

I have an invisible, silent, undetectable dragon in my garage. try to prove me wrong.
