What John Aldridge doesn't seem to appreciate is the fact that had Alli gone to 'Pool, they would have ruined the lad, whereas Poch has brought the best out of him. Alli will be thanking his lucky stars that he ended up making the right choice of club.
He also doesn't seem to appreciate that Spurs were monitoring Alli since the 2011-12 season, which is three years before the Mousers thought that perhaps it would maybe be worth their while if they considered taking a look at him.
It's because all Mousers live in a world where 'Pool is the only club that is capable of doing anything. Dinosaurs like Aldridge don't understand that the 'Pool of today is a very pale shadow of the club he used to play for.
I saw this on Scouse Sports News, it is not like them to report anything negative about their darlings Pool, especially after enthusiastically reporting he cost £75m at the time of the move. I thought it was common knowledge he cost £65m, transfer league were reporting that figure from day one, typically the media exaggerated the fee at the time to try and show the Mousers in the best possible light.
You called him a twat. I'd delete it if I thought you went overboard but in general we prefer it if people don't start abusing other users, it often leads to arguments and slanging matches which most people don't want to read about when they come here to talk Spurs, or in this thread's case, laugh at Liverpool. This is the most important reason because abusive arguments means us mods would actually have to do some work for a change. In addition, we have some older residents here and Spurf and Spurs Disciple are very sensitive to bad language. We try our best to placate them but they're grumpy old sods so sometimes it's best to let them get their own way. You can say pretty much what you want about players though, bar obvious stuff like racism and homophobia.
If I might step in here, for a moment, and give high praise to everyone who has contributed, and continues to contribute to this thread, for their good humour and, by and large, good natured conduct. Holding a mirror up to Mouser delusion is not something that ought to be taken lightly. It could, in the wrong hands, be misconstrued as out and out wummage (which it clearly isn't, of course). I, myself, have, on many occasions, had to say some harsh things, and my words could so easily have been misconstrued, even though I wrote what I did with love in my heart and a gentle tear in my eye. Yes, I have often been torn by the very words that I have written, knowing the truths I have uttered would have such devasting impact on the Mouser. He is, after all, flesh and blood. Prick him and he does, indeed, bleed. I am not stone; his pain is not obscured from me. And yet, through it all, the Mouser has come back to this thread, time and time again, to gaze upon the face of that mirror that he may catch a half-glimpse of what he has become. We should expect no thanks, lads, but I do confess that it has heartened me, so very often, that the Mouser has thanked us for our efforts (Sucky excepted, of course), and has held no grudges against the truths we have offered. I suppose what I am trying to say is, keep up the good work lads.
Thread !!?? I regard this article as a Wikipedia entry for a cultural/social malaise that must be accurately and objectively documented, so that historians centuries in the future can make sense of a phenomenon that at first glance seems like deluded hysteria.
Morning guys just a few facts here to take in. (they are a rare thing in this thread) Since this thread began Spurs have won exactly 0 cups or titles and achieved nothing whatsoever. (spuds will argue that 5th is an achievement, such is their delusion) The last cup spurs won, was the lge cup back in 2008. Thats 4 years before Liverpool last won the lge cup in 2012. Spurs best pl finish 4th - Liverpool 2nd Haig has claimed that within the next 3 years spurs will lift the title and also win the euros and WC for England. (these rantings of grandeur have led me to the conclusion that his thread has become the monster who turned on his master) In the last 10 years spurs have finished in the top 4 for just 2 seasons - in the last 10 years Liverpool have had 6 cl outings - in the last 5 seasons, spurs 1 cl outing - liverpool 1 cl outing, to Spurs fans this is....Progress. I would like to take this opportunity to say that my reasons for coming here almost daily is that being the caring person that i am, its sad to watch fans so under nourished of glory reach so high with nothing to base such heights on. Just remember guys, im here for you all, any time you need to talk
Our first full Kylo Klopp of the day. Since this thread began, next year is their year. Which begs the question : was HIAG so prescient that he first presented this article in 1990 (damn, there is no Usenet archive search engine anymore ) .
i know its hard to take in RDBD mate, but lets stick to the facts here, this is a delusional help group is it not? im here to help you all im not one to say owned, but your reply screams of defeat.
"i know its hard to take in RDBD mate, but lets stick to the facts here, this is a delusional help group is it not? im here to help you all see and understand how the typical Mouser appears to the world on an Internet forum." <fixed>
Ah, yesterday! For balance, could you just add "Next year is our year." It has a completeness about it.
If I was a cynic, I'd suggest you are picking timescales to suit your argument? Progress you say. In the last 10 years your average finish is 4.8, ours is 5.8. Over last 5 years your average is 5.8, ours is 5.0. One is getting better (i.e. progress) one is getting worse.
The spurs argument is "we will, one day" as opposed to the Liverpool argument of "we have, and will again" Do you not see the irony You poor spuds have never had a "your year" even begin to claim a "next year", this season is the closest thing to that youve ever felt, and it looks like Leicester still will be the ones to win. This thread is a self projection of the barren wasteland that is the trophy cabinet at White hart lane, thirsty and dry you have finally arrived at the trough, coincidentally at the time where the other camels are having a sleep, and the water has got you all dizzy. so to next year, where you may again wait for the perspiration to drip from the other camels nutsacks to get a drink. please log in to view this image
You could, and so could i, What does an average of whatever vs whatever mean if in context it has achieved 0?
