A real shame for him, when you think how well he's played this season. Like many keepers though, maybe all he needed was a run in the team and playing regularly. That could be where Rafa may see Woodman as the better option, being more match fit, having been playing recently.
Crying shame for him. I never rated him until this season. Made me eat my words. Saved us on so many occasions.
Aye, its not that long ago, many NUFC would have had Garde in charge here - lucky escape with that one. Moyes to take over?
Nailed on for Pearson. Everythings stacked against us right now. From the owner to the fixture computer and beyond.
Gutted for Elliot. He was probably going to the Euros, he was playing really well for us. Rough if it's as bad as it sounds. The bit of hope that I can think of is that just occasionally, bizarrely these things work in your favour. Galvinize the team if you like. Get the players thinking fk this, the odds are stacked against is but we will pull together to beat them and support whoever gets the chance in goal by putting in that bit of extra effort to protect him.
Well thats that, as they say. He was our best player this season by far, can you imagine what our goal difference would be without him, -50 or something.
The damage has been done in the first 28 games this season. We should necer have been in this situation but we are. Genuinely 100% convinced we will drop and that Rafa will go. I just hope Moyes or Pearson wait till the summer to pick their club.
Can`t see any way back from this now. Don`t know enough about the other keepers we have pass an opinion, but I think we are now, for certain, absolutely ****ed. Does anyone believe in miracles?? Cos we need one now. 8 games to go, down to our 3rd/4th choice keeper, with a defense that leaks goals willy-nilly, a midfield that can`t create anything, apart from chaos, and a strike force that can`t score for toffee. Championship football it is.!
Dalow over Woodman, im not going to debate the pedigree of the kid, but Alnwick could have made it, but he was thrown in the deep end too quickly and look how that ended up for him. I'd like to see Woodman give game time in cups or meaningless fixtures, but we dont have that luxury. Darlow had a bad game at WBA but I trust Rafa and the coaching team will make sure he is ready. Ability wise, Darlow is good enough, he just needs to put a string of performances together!
Not exactly the news required before the match with Norwich! Still, it's time for the other 'keepers in the squad to step-up and make their claim for the position. It's what they get paid for and I would assume, been waiting for. An opportunity to have a run of games in the first team... well, 9 games anyway.
Not what you want to hear with our current predicament but as others are saying good chance for Darlow and Woodman to take this opportunity by the balls and make a name for themselves. Imagine if one of them saves a pen or has a m.o.t.m. performance which ends up keeping us up... Or looking at it the other way - it's good experience for either when we do get relegated.
Not sure why this makes us ****ed? The 10 players in front of the keeper has been the problem all season, only if there were changes there then we can say we are ****ed. Darlow has played for Forest for a couple of seasons so at least he has played proper competitive football.
Time for the gutless wonders to step up and protect whoever is in goal. McClaren, Charnley and Carr have ****ed up our season. To be where we are is absolutely criminal. We go down, Rafa will go and we will fester in mid-table Championship obscurity for a while.
