Lots of scientific theories regarding this, but one thing for certain is that it has been around for billions of years and not created a mere few thousand years ago as proclaimed by the creationist religions..
There are many who believe in a creator but who do not believe the world is 6000 years old as the Bible professes. That's a different discussion. The theory of a creator is just as valid as any other.
The Big Bang theory isn't compatible with the creationist theory, assuming that by "creationist" you are talking about those who believe in a 6000 year-old world, not just those who believe in a higher intelligence.
You forgot the entire CoE branch of Christianity being based around one big fat greedy monarch's need to have his cake and eat it. CoE is more about Henry 8th's Jizz than it is about Jesus Christ.
When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion and as for 'Us' and the Creation of the Universe it is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination - just like religion !
You can't wriggle out of proving your god exists by saying nobody has proved their theory of how the universe started. In comparison to the origins of man according to any mainstream religion, there are a billion tonnes more evidence to support the Theory of Evolution. There is not a single scrap of evidence, nothing the size of a postage stamp, to back up creationism. There is equally as much evidence on creationism as there is in my brand new theory that man evolved from the rotten particles of **** from a dead Hamster from Berundi.
I believe in a creator and evolution There is precisely zilch evidence, nay, not even a theory, for how time and space originated. So to say the idea of a creator is outrageous, is outrageous in itself without viable alternatives.
My own thoughts are we live in a Simulated Universe - and the bollocks therein called 'Life' is a digital program and one day some bored '****er' will simply pull the plug ...
No it's not, the idea of a creationist would require the entertainment of supernatural activity. Only when all scientific plausible theories have been exhausted should anybody be looking at what is essentially 'magic' being the origins of the universe.
But science hasn't even put forward a plausible theory to be investigated? The Big Bang has little evidence, and even if true doesn't remove the necessity of a creator, as the elements were still there before it.
Religious people will just move the goal posts every time they are presented with any substantial evidence on the origins of the human being. It's an absolutely pointless task debating with a person who believes creationism is a rational plausibility. The fact that evolution is certain has only made them widen the term 'creation' to the universe rather than mankind. You will need to speak with somebody who is a lot better versed on understanding the concept of 'time' than I am in order to satisfy your thirst for a scientific theory that carries water. I don't have the mental capacity to either understand or relay to you the complexity of the science involved, sorry.
That's fine, I fully understand the concepts involved and they don't satisfy me. To me, looking rationally, a creator makes more sense than the most popular scientific explanation. To accept the big bang, you have to accept a theory that defies the laws of entropy and the laws of thermodynamics. It's a stretch to say the least, when the only serious piece of evidence supporting it is that the universe is probably expanding. A creator has multitudes of problems too, of course. But it at least would explain some of the supernatural happenings that physics can't.
You fully understand the concept of time, yet you yearn for an explanation from scientists that, judging from your ascertations, must be linear? There in lay the problem of religious fanatics, their reluctance to accept that not everything is controlled and recordable.
An insanely difficult proposition. A tiny minority of Muslims are militant - how can you ban a religion based on that? Totally undemocratic and racist idea. This country has taken on a role of being multi-ethnic and taking on different cultures whether you agree with it or not. You would have to turf out loads of people! Then you would have a backlash abroad. 1 in 10 Britons live permanently abroad. If every state started banning cultures/groups/religions it didn't like it would create huge problems and total war. Then of course you have fiscal issues. Oil from the middle east. Do you ban Muslims and yet trade with them? Would they trade with a country who has banned people of their faith? Its a non starter. All you can do is try and make sure nutters don't come across our borders and that means getting control of immigration and knowing who is coming over here which recent governments haven't done despite how obvious a suggestion it is. Trouble is we're run by the EU now which permits migration. My personal stance is we permit people who will be useful to our country. If we are creating problems abroad which is creating migrants then we need to stop doing that - or provide for them at source.
