The trouble is Jackdan, you are a rarity on these boards, a jack who can actually talk sense and debate, I've almost forgotten what thats like so often it drops down to base level of point scoring and eventual abuse.
In all honesty, and this can't be held against me for future use, I agree somewhat with your summise of your situation.

I do believe that your board(Huw) will keep the pursestrings tight, but that didn't stop you last year did it!
I think thats a lot to do with something we never quite had, players playing for the team.

You will need to loosen those strings a bit more than you're used to if you have any hope of staying up this season.

Of course, besides the Derby comparison, we have the WBA comparison, who is to say that isn't the way, and perhaps you are trying that route.

Good luck with it anyway, nice to talk to a good jack on these boards.

lol thanks i do have my moments though. I posted this very article on the swans board earlier...bit of tongue in cheek fun as nothin else was happening over there (bit like our transfer front this week lol). I was going to do a multi thread but thought there are sections of both fans that would, as you said, drop to base level of point scoring and abuse.

you cant say that....anything on this board will be taken to be held against you, in some cases even if it is completely out of context and made months ago!

He does need to open them a bit, for me £5 million for Matt Mills, given that i think we need a centre back would have been a bargain, but thats me not Rodgers. If he thinks Caulker will be suitable and Mills wouldnt have then i am not qualified to argue....but i still would. I couldnt help but put the Earnshaw and Miller dig in, i am a jack at the end of the day lol, but hopefully it will end the point scoring argument that people cant wait for us to finish with lower than Derby's 15 points...even though they finished with 11....im amazed how many people have been getting that wrong!!

Good luck to you too..i look forward to a few more debates with our little cousins over the coming season...again couldnt resist :)

Agree with most of what SB says and it is good to have a sensible debate, with some good banter with someone from the white side.

Regarding your comments about Up the Jacks. Don't forget he started this thread with a not unreasonable post, if a gentle WUM. However he went on to compound that with more blatant Wum's and in that respect he must expect everything he gets. None of us know his age or background but make assumptions on the basis of his remarks and style. He comes across as very similar to a complete pain in the ass poster from BBC606 who claimed to be a Swans fan but was disowned by many on the Swans board. Taking all of that into account, I don't regard it as bullying. If he wants to enter a sensible debate as you have done then he is welcome but if he persists with the trash comments he posted earlier then he will get it back with interest or along the lines of another thread, be ignored. In reality that is the best option but there will always be someone who will take issue with rubbish like that.

Just noticed the LOL at the end of your first post so you may have said that a bit tongue in cheek but it does no harm to clear the air.

Come back and rejoin the circus when something takes your interest. <ok>

It is obviously not Buck who refuses to spend money, a footie manager who does that hasn't been born yet. I think the jacks biggest worry is that if he doesn't get the backing he wants and with the jacks meteoric rise to the bottom of the Prem by mid-season, he will walk before their demise damages his rep, or someone else in the Prem will get sacked and he'll be off like a shot. After all lack of cash was the real reason for their last two good managers leaving.

I think he's an idiot. As a professional I try to do my job to the best of my ability every day, how our competitors fair is important as that is what can allow or limit our opportunities but it has never effected my level of effort in any way what so ever.

Why then should Swansea City's success or failure bear any relevance to the performance of any player on the books of Cardiff City ? Frankly all Earnshaw is admitting to here is that he is unprofessional in his attitude.

And before anyone calls me a WUM I'd be saying exastly the same thing if it was Scott Sinclair or Leon Britton saying those words.

Fair points Hacker although I disagree. Don't forget Earnie is a Cardiff lad and like the rest of us it grates to see the Swans (deservedly) where we want to be and.

What is wrong in him saying the Swans achievements can inspire Cardiff as, essentially, you have shown us what needs to be done and (regardless of all the other arguments about players, money spent etc) surely there are lessons to be learned from that? <ok>

Well footballers are not really noted for there IQ and Earnie, bless him, is no different in this.
I think he can be excused in this case though as I believe he was speaking from the heart as an ordainary fan would, understandable is that, I think idiot is a word too far.
Also, I think the biggest complaint from fans of all clubs is when a player or players don't put the effort in, we can forgive a lot of things but not that, and that is what he is actually refering to, but as I said, because it was as a fan he naturally used the rivalry thing as an incentive.

Please ignore these WUMs. By commenting on their posts all you are doing is encouraging their infantile behaviour.

By the way I think you are right to be optimistic about the new season as I think some of MM signings are very good, although some I am not too sure about. Genuinely wish you all the best for next season and hoping you go up and we stay up. That way we can resume on field rivalries as nothing can beat the intensity of the South Wales derby.

Ever so slightly off tangent but just wondering if any of you lot have seen an article on the general chat forum about Wales ? They aren't brave enough to post it on our boards and there's even Welsh people (allegedly) running us down too. Gotta go now just off over there to insult them
