    The Night Manager.

    Wow.

I shan't say anymore in the event others haven't seen it yet, or choose to join the series before it disappears over the horizon.

    But... wow.

I read that they had changed the ending from the book. Have looked it up and it is totally changed....prefer the TV ending.

Last episode was well done, and interesting. In all honesty, I found a lot of the other episodes laughable at times. Overacting, poor dialogue, and just a little showy (also not very Le Carre - he was subtle).

It did look good, and it is good to see the BBC get these high production pieces out.

Happy Valley is wonderfully written, and nothing tops Jed Mecurio's Line of Duty, with the 3rd series just starting last Thursday on BBC Two, for me.

one thing I didn't get, if the corrupt guys in MI5 knew Olivia Colman had someone close to Roper, couldn't they have just asked him if there was anyone new close to him? Although I can't remember how long ago the corrupt guys must have/should have realised this

So you finally all caught up and watched The Night Manager final episode. I couldn't wait and so watched it earlier last week. Even gave Chilco the chance to watch it early too, but he held out. :)
Must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anything they did was going to reveal their part in the corruption, because they knew she knew. So they had to keep quiet.

I think they did alert Roper, which is why he started clearing his tracks, starting with the Spanish lawyer. And Corky was convinced that Pine was wrong, but Pine managed to convince Roper it was Corky.

If they did then they didn't do it openly. I believe it was more to do with situations not going as smoothly as they should have and Corky's instinct to not trust Pine. When Pine killed Corky, Roper really started to get suspicious because Corky had been his most loyal comrade going way back years and he ultimately trusted Corky's instincts. Roper had to trust Pine as Birch because he was intertwined in the new business. Something which Corky really objected to and Roper fatally thought was down to mere jealousy. Which begs the question, so why didn't Corky make his suspicions known? Well he wasn't sure until he found Pine/Birch on the other side of the fence

I can't quote you chapter and verse but there was some contact from Halo at some point about the possibility of a mole, long before they all went off to Turkey.

really? They could have told Roper as soon as they knew someone had infiltrated and he would surely have killed Pine. Instead they tried to scare her.
