Am watching the Nigeria v Egypt game on the box - Iggy has missed a couple of chances, but that hasn't stopped Nigeria leading 1-0 & going top of their group.

Not an overly inspiring game though...

    Afternoon all

Back home from babysitting grandchildren (back for 3 more days next week). Glorious sunshine and a good walk this afternoon. Sipping a pre-prandial glass of Henri Baudouin pastis. Not too bad a life really...

Right old washout of a day. Finally dried up but too late to start anything outside. Hung around waiting for a parcel which could come with the post lady, or with DHL. Two different e-mails to say it has been despatched , but they cannot agree as to who has it. The suppliers web-site still says the parcel is being prepared, so no idea what is going on. Think the best thing is to have a glass or two and see what crops up tomorrow.

Morning, Dave :). Just missed you by a minute - dealing with a hurling child at 3am and just finished the clean up.

Yes, happy to be back :). Things still hot at work though boss, who committed gross misconduct in numerous ways (let alone times) has just left us (after a year off "ill" - 12 months of sickness came on 12 hours after being presented with findings of investigations into her behaviours) with the equivalent of a handsome golden handshake. All to keep things quiet. Disgraceful. I helped pack her stuff into boxes, which was a little therapeutic. The one who has kept it all quiet remains and is still trying to f things up as royally as she can. Rape, *****philia, drunkeness whilst in charge of children, sexual assault and sexual harassment, bullying and fraud. All in a 'Christian' setting with hierarchy desperate to shut all voices of complaint and maintain very sus status quo until they couldn't keep it, then silencing those (a colleague and I) from whistleblowing, then vilifying us because we spoke up.
It's been a very tough time and until the one who has tried to silence it all and caused massive havoc for my colleague and I, until she has gone, the setting cannot heal. She's done her best to get rid of us, she succeeded with my colleague, but I'm hanging in there. This stops her from rewriting history, although she has had a few goes at that, too! Including libelling me at one point. I've let that go for now, as much as I want to fight it, a libel court case could be the last straw for my family.
Anyway, as I've said, good to be back, but I don't think I'll be as frequent as I was. Still reading, but less writing.
    Couldn't resist the pre-4a.m. chat though. :)

Sounds like something akin to a freemason conspiracy ... It's a shame someone could not have nailed Saville in his early day's of abuse . Suspect many were shut up / threatened along the way in his case
Hope your story ends well for you . I have to deal with a bully on a daily basis , in his case partly down to age related mental decline . I just about cope , in part because I'm a tough nut and worldly wise , but fully understand the concept of bullying in the workplace and the impact it has .

Glad to see you're back. Where does one even begin with your utterly tragic and reprehensible work situation? All I can say is good for you for doing your damnedest to protect your charges... it seems to me that if you don't then not only no one else will... but worse.
Hopefully this forum will provide some relief for you.

Morning all from the rural depths where there are sunshine and showers. This is the first Easter day when my eldest granddaughter has been able to have normal chocolate eggs instead of dairy free ones. We will be joining the family for a good dinner, and I have even spent a couple of additional euros to get some better wine than normal. Have a good day!

Many thanks to my dear Hornet pals. I've just received a letter from the ex-boss's boss, which is just further evidence of the lack of morality in the C of E. They truly never cease to amaze me.

I won't be in here as often as previously but I really look forward to the distraction. The children are safe, I should add, but if we have another ***** I am not convinced the C of E powers that be will do anything other than try to cover up again. It's hugely worrying. It sounds unbelievable, and it is. I've just been living in the middle of it for 18 months.

When it all comes out, and I'm staggered it hasn't yet, you will all be amazed. If I leave, I won't go quietly.
