The Goons are used to their annual crashing out of the CL at the last sixteen stage. Every year, regular as clockwork, for the last six years.

I imagine they'll now shoot for wasting less time and just go out at the group stage. As they almost did this year.

Vorm will be in goal when England play Holland, despite the fact that he's only made one start for Spurs this season.

That is how good this Spurs squad is!

Won't it be something if, whilst Spurs try to bring further glory for Roy's England, Spurs help Holland to stop that happening!

Has one club side so utterly dominated World football quite as much before now? I don't think so.

I think it was a reasonable question. Given you have such a talented squad surely you shouldn't been trailing behind Leicester and only marginally ahead of the comically awful Arsenal in the league, as well as being out of the FA Cup (home tie to a team who haven't won in the league in months) and utterly humiliated in Europe?
 
We have the youngest first XI in the Prem. No one, at the start of this season, would have given us a chance of top 4, let alone a shot at the title.

Only a complete imbecile would think that a failure to win the league would be a failure in either Poch or the squad.

So, Stan. You think Poch has failed, I take it?

I don't think Poch has failed, if anything he's over achieved, but you seem to rate the squad as world class. If they're such a cracking group of players why are they trailing behind Leicester and only marginally ahead of a comically bad Arsenal in the league, as well as out of the FA Cup after a beating at home to the woefully out of form Crystal Palace and humiliated in Europe by Dortmund? You've talked the players up a lot but it looks like they will win the same amount of trophies as Arsenal.

Why is it that Leicester have made fools only of Spurs? That's dreadful wum-milling, Stan!

It's also highly disrespectful of Leicester, who are clearly there on merit, not because Spurs (or any other side) ****ed up.

I consider United, Chelsea, Arsenal and the Premier League in general to be pretty ****ing awful at the minute, that's well documented.

I've not talked up any of the clubs or their players, certainly not on an international football basis. Only a moron would talk up a PL side at the minute given how awful the performances have been in Europe. Leicester are the best of a woeful bunch, I think even their fans would admit that.

By the way, I never said Leicester had made fools of Spurs, that's all your own work.

England beat the World Champions - who put out a strong side, on their own turf - in a match that Roy has admitted is the best win under his reign. That is no mean thing to say.

Your agenda is to belittle Poch and Spurs' young side, probably because it helps you feel a little bit better about just how ****e United, not only have been, but clearly are going to be for the next decade. You are a spent force, whereas Spurs, after many years of endeavour and hard work by Levy, have finally found all the pieces to the jig-saw, and look like a side that is in the ascendency.

I can't stop you feeling bitter about that, Stan; but don't think you are going to drag me down to your depths of despair, either.

Nice essay.

How does that explain such a good bunch of players winning the same as a comically bad Arsenal? I rate "Poch", I'm not convinced that you do though.

For the record, I think United under LVG are terrible, that's well documented.

I assume you are so wound up as you know that this was Spurs' best chance in 50 years and they're blowing it.
 
Sometimes, outrageous and unreserved laughter into one's face is the only proper response.

I thought my comments were perfectly reasonable. HIAG certainly couldn't disagree with them although I appreciate that he doesn't actually watch football and just checks the scores every so often. He's more into hockey.
