Batman V Superman, as predicted, was utter horse ****. Terrible plot, terrible casting, again, blurry ****ed up action scenes where you cannot tell whats happening. Utter ****e. This is horrible because I always preferred DC to Marvel as a kid But now Marvel are killing it on the big screen with their awesome Avengers movies and DC are ****ing it up by serving up this ****ty fare.
Not unexpected. Trailers looked better than movie but we all knew what was going to happen. The thing I do not get is how Affleck was not tested out in a batman movie prior to this as justice league should rival avengers for number and value of movies
Spoiler: spoilersfullofplotholes Don't mind which way they go with it as I don't have any real investment in any character. Ragnar has to go some point soon anyway as he dies invading Paris and the show does (very) loosely follow the history. They've aged him a lot this season and Bjorn seems ready to take over. Agree on Floki, character has no point being there anymore and has done nothing this season, presume he will be made to be instrumental in some upcoming turn of events either going against or reuniting with Ragnar one last time ... again, could easily go either way depending how they spin it
Spoiler: More spoilers it's clear Ragnar is on his last legs. The thing is the prophecys are all important. Each child has their own prophecy. This is think will guide the way.... I also agree on floki. Him in stocks is dull. What I feel is that the Paris stuff is all well and good but the main move next must be returned to England. This is probably going to culminate with 1066 frankly. But...... That's way way way in future but would tie in French, invading vikings and English defenders which this Ragnar baby will be At some point this this has to jump forward 20 years
I'm kind of glad. I'm getting to the end of my interest in superhero movies and this could be the final nail in the coffin to put me off them for good. Had it been half decent it would have had me clinging on to the inevitable demise of this genre anyway. I don't even think there's much left to watch in the Marvel offerings either.
Civil War looks great. Will definitely see that, and hope it lives up to its hype. BvS on the other hand looked dreadful from the trailers and completely lived up to that. Man Of Steel was also terrible.
It looks 'samey' to me. I think the only thing mildly more entertaining about Marvel is better Direction and Cast, but otherwise the whole superhero genre is becoming a tired formula now. It either needs to be buried or have a fresh approach (not sure how). Agree about Man of Steel, that was also a pile of ****.
Spoiler: spoily mcspoilson How closely is it based on history though, because apparently the creators said they intend to take the Vikings to China and all sorts of different locations, I'm guessing that's why they've introduced the Emperor's daughter into the mix. I find it hard to see them getting rid of Ragnar at the moment because everything in the story revolves around him.
Spoiler: More this is why Ragnar has so many sons.... they need to get on with it cos it's all well and good but if you stretch out this cos people like rolo and ragnar it won't happen
Spoiler: more I agree with what you're saying, you've got to move the story on in what seems to be a long series like this. My problem is that apart from Ragnar the characters have no relationship, good or bad, with almost any of the overseas characters. Even a lot of the characters in Kattegat like Floki, Aslaug etc. become pretty irrelevant without Ragnar seeing as their whole story revolves around how they feel about Ragnar and their resentment toward him. Basically if Ragnar dies you're going to have to start pretty much from scratch with most of the characters which is going to mean at least half a series dedicated to pretty slow episodes where people are introduced to each other.
Spoiler: BatmanVsSuperman One of the worst things about the film was Batman spending 3/4 of the movie wanting to murder Superman for being a danger and ruining his building and then battering him to near death but stopping at the last minute because his mothers name was also Martha. Load of ****ing ****e. Also I'm pretty sure he threw his rule of not killing anybody right out the window for this movie.
I haven't seen Batman v Superman, and have no intention of doing so. As a battle, it sounds a bit one-sided to me. I always preferred DC as a kid too (I liked their artwork more), but that's sort of the point. Superhero stories are for children. At first, there was some novelty value in making them appeal to adults but that wore out after a few years, imo. No amount of CGI can compensate for a poor story for me and it's really hard to be involved with anything based on such a ludicrous premise as a superhero. It's kids' stuff, and should have stayed that way.
Watched 10 cloverfield lane last night. I watched cloverfield a while ago and thought was terrible, shocking ending and I wasn't actually sure if this one was linked or not. Was as actually pretty good with a few twists and turns but again the ending was a bit meh... Just deliberately didn't end it properly so they can follow it up with another film to carry on
Only really loosely linked isn't it in that the John Goodman guy tells the girl there's been a catastrophe outside so she can't go out there. The original Cloverfield was a massive letdown though yeah ... could've been really good but like most recent monster movies lacked quality
Like 90% of the film you think it's not linked then the ending vaguely links it (not sure if they are actually linked or just a coincidence). Wanted to see The Boy but weren't showing at the cinema went to
Hoping for a good ep of TWD tonight/tomorrow ... unless it's on a break for Easter in the States or some ****, I know they like their breaks over there ... any Yank users know ??
Nah its on as usual. AMC are usually pretty good at that sort of thing. CW, CBS and NBC are the bastards who take all the breaks. HBO and Showtime used to do it, but have cut that **** out for the most part. Usually only one break during Game Of Thrones run on HBO.
