For me, it's simply a case of which one you'd back to do something when we're chasing a game. For me, Defoe would be in the box. Rooney would be on the halfway line playing a square pass to Danny Rose or a Hail Mary out of play.
You're just too good, ****ing hilarious, and to think Tramore got rid of Swords for Wumming!!!
It was a genuine question. I honestly don't know what the **** you're talking about. How am I wumming?
Not if he was brought on up front to get a goal he wouldn't. Let's agree to differ mate. We'll never ever agree about whether Defoe or Rooney is the better player or more likely to score an important goal.
Hodgson of course won't go into any game with 4-4-2. If Vardy starts it will be in one of the wide positions in a 4-3-3 (or 4-5-1 without the ball). We'll only see 4-4-2 if we are chasing the game, like last night. I don't think Vardy will start unless Kane is injured. Not a problem for me, with his pace and movement he is a great impact sub. What will be interesting will be the composition of the 3/5, in particular the number 10, which could be Rooney, Alli or Barkley. For wide positions it's who from Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain, Sterling, Lallana, Wellbeck and doubtless others that I have forgotten. If we play with 2 out and out attacking full backs like last night we can afford a narrower midfield. We have loads of options going forward, and Dier should be an automatic at the base of the midfield. It's the defence I'm more worried about.
It was a genuine question. I honestly don't know what the **** you're talking about. How am I wumming?
**** off now, now you're just playing about with me. I trust Sacha has payed you well. Can you play another part now though? Perhaps, The only Gay in The Bermondsey Village? A bit Eurotrashy yet meatliy fun?
Indeed, we shall agree to disagree. I expect you'll get your wish and Rooney will be out there, taking the pace out of the attack, blaming everyone else for his failures and doing a poor impression of Beckham or Gerrard.

.. And from an unexpected quarter. What worked last night was pressing high up the pitch and getting midfielders level with and beyond Kane regularly. If we sit back and the CF gets isolated it's back to square one. A problem for Rooney is that he has been playing in a team that hasn't really attacked with speed and numbers for a couple of seasons, he'll have to adjust. I'm sure he can, and that the rest of the team can get over the habit of passing to him, even when he is an a bad position, at every opportunity. His movement is great and he will create space for others to exploit. If picked.....
Ok. Can ANYONE please explain just what the **** any of this means? I genuinely don't get it.
You could ask your mates at MI6
It's a bit like the Hoilett debates of years gone by. Some value his name, some prefer to measure what he does on the pitch.

I'd hope so after all that. Might as well bring Rob Green in if we're going to take players who have been past it for two years.
Yeah yeah. Give it a rest now mate. I've cut you some slack because you seem a little mentally unhinged, what with thinking Defoe is a better player than Rooney, but now you're just wumming.

What Col has asked in his opening post seems perfectly reasonable to me.
There appears to be problems when quoting posts at the moment. The site is undergoing maintenance this weekend so there may be a few glitches.
Ok. Can ANYONE please explain just what the **** any of this means? I genuinely don't get it.
Sorry no idea what he's gibbering about. Ref Rooney though, past his best or not he still has far more to offer than Defoe. I think people are forgetting a lot of these young ones won't have any tournament experience so we'll need some older heads in the mix and Rooney fits the bill.
