I see what you're getting at JS but im not sure we can read too much into that. It could be argued that Hayes wants our more valuable assets in terms of players signed on longer contracts to make the club more attractive to sell. It would be much more of a nightmare for Hayes if Lewis has a great season then leaves on a free around the time he may want to sell.

Not that I like disagreeing with you or anything ;)

Unless hayes does want to sell the club, but wants to first leave the team in a strong position by getting key players to sign long term contracts. Either way it is encouraging.

All this talk of Hayes going, I am not sure he will unless he gets a buyer, which unless they are a fan of the club would probably be a bit of an idiot to buy!! If he wants to go and there is no buyer, chances are the club will go into administration and he will get little or no money back as he will have to join the queue like everyone else for their money. That is unless he wishes to cut his losses but I think the amount he has invested in the club he will want at least some return.

I agree Finchy I don't think Hayes or Wasps will be going anywhere in the near future as the :bandit: has locked the two clubs finances together and the pests would have to pay more rent at another (bigger) ground

Well, from where I'm sitting, there are 2 clear possibilities.

    1. Hayes is committed to the club and wants to see them progress, even if his grand plan has been blocked. In which case I would hope that he would come out and make some statement of his intentions

    2. He has now tied up Waddock and Lewis recently so if any club wants them it's going to cost. This could be seen as a shrewd move if he is thinking of going.

I'm not sure what to think but if he doesn't make a statement soon, and ties up another good player meanwhile, I could even get suspicious.
