Would have him here, think he is a better option than any of our other players (bar Mane when in top form, but I don't see him being here past the summer anyway). Definitely better now than he was when he left us, completely laughable the way some Saints fans say he and Walcott haven't improved since leaving us. Maybe they would be even better if they had moved to another club, or stayed, but it is ifs and maybes, but they clearly are better players than when with us.

I guess the point is, would you take Schneiderlin back, hypothetically, as I assume the chance is zero.

Kevin Davies didn't do too bad. Got the equaliser vs Millwall in the cup that set us on the road to Cardiff, if nothing else.

This isn't just aimed at you, because other people have made a similar point to you, but I personally don't buy this. Just because some people previously haven't been as good, or fitted in as well, second time around, shouldn't be any reason for any club to dismiss the opportunity to re-sign a player in the future. Yes it might not have worked our for Player A, but Player B is not Player A.

I think it's fair to say that every single Swansea fan is happy that their board didn't reject the chance to re-sign Sigurdsson, just because he had played for them before. And Zaha's return to Palace has hardly been a failure.

It was Gary Neville who said last season, after Saints had beaten ManU at OT 1-0, that Morgan had proven for a couple of seasons already he could grace any top side. With the usual disrespect to Saints, of course. I still happen to agree with him, but you've got to play Morgan where he wants to be played. ManU have perhaps decided they don't know where that is. Koeman does.

I agree with this. There is no logic to suggest that a player who leaves cannot return and be a success. In the case of Saints players it has often been the reason that they've not lived upto their billing elsewhere and have sunk too low to recapture what they had at Southampton.

Mick Channon simply didn't like living in the North. He'd already established himself as a top international player for years, so he had nothing to live upto. He just didn't like it. He returned and wasn't quite as great as he'd been before, late in his career, but he was still very good.

I would have to say that Morgan was the one truly World Class player in out side in the last few seasons. His vision and distribution have been sorely missed. I would love to have him back but think that his lack of success at Man Utd has more to do with him playing in a poor squad that is managed by an equally poor manager. My Manc season ticket holding brother-in-law thinks he is rubbish and easily the worst player in United's squad and his negative opinion of his always sparks debate because Man Utd have not seen what he is capable of. He won't accept that Schneiderlin is a world class player.

I would have to say that Utd was a weird move for him as everyone assumed he would have rocked up at arsenal. I am glad he never joined Wenger's team but think that it would probably have worked out better for him. Out of all the players who have left Southampton recently, he is the one that I would like to see return most of all, followed by Lallana. I think Luke Shaw will still make good after his injury yet it is intriguing how both Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain have never fulfilled their potential under Wenger and maybe they are the ones who would have been better off going to Old Trafford ?

I would go as far to say that hardly anyone fulfils their potential under Wenger. I can't think of a single player in recent years, say since Walcott, who has significantly improved by playing for Arsenal.

Please do point out the ones I can't remember.
