Oh yes, nice way to finish, and at last we come from behind to beat the Germans. Excellent, well deserved.
"2-0 and you f*cked it up, 2-0 and you f*cked it up.....!" Not normally a fan of friendlies but that was a cracker
A great result and hopefully Hodgson will see that we are good enough to win playing attacking football...
Such an impressive performance by this England team. Never thought I would be saying this. Such pride and spirit in the team.
Just turned on and dier scores the winner. ....sounds like a decent game and dare I say grounds for optimisum in the summer. ...
Yep. Stand by for the ridiculous over hyping in the media tomorrow. Today we played with some freedom and intent sadly lacking in tournaments for many years. Let's hope we carry it through. Loving Mattheus as a pundit.
It's never a friendly against Germany! Me and my two lads were bouncing around the room when Dier scored. A very good display from this young England aide. We shouldn't get carried away, but I've been saying for a while that we have a very exciting crop of young players. Kane's goal, including a Cruyff turn, was superb. Vardy's was out of this world. Dier was excellent with the kind of display that people don't notice. Rose was good and although he missed a sitter, Alli was superb. We played some great stuff and came back from two down against the world champions. ****ing get in there! Henderson isn't an international though.
Yep. ..agree about the press. ..no doubt installed as favourites by the time the papers come out tomorrow. ... Germany will still be the team to beat...
Very good game and well deserved winners. I've not been this excited about an England team since 1998. A lot of players I have a lot of time for, Kane, Alli, Barkley, Dier, Smalling and Vardy especially. A fit and in form Rooney should still play though. A trio of Rooney, Alli and Vardy behind Kane is mouthwatering, with Barkley waiting in the wings. Just not so sure that 3-2 win was the best thing to happen right now. Don't get me wrong, it will give the players invaluable confidence approaching the Euros, not sure the English press can contain themselves and could eventually work against them regarding pressure and when the going gets tough. We'll see I guess. On Germany, they've been in a transitional phase for the past two years after winning the World Cup. They've lacked their usual fluency in the latest qualification phase, and seem to be searching in the dark for their prefered lineup, something which is new to them since 2006. They still have positions they struggle to fill, both fullback positions and the striker role. Apart from Philip Lahm who retired internationaly after the World Cup victory, these have been problem positions for them for the best part of 6-8 years. They have a lot of talent coming through but strangely enough not in these positions. They have relied upon centre backs to fill in at fullback and for Miroslav Klose to miracously reinvent himself for the past 4 tournaments. Jonas Hector at left back is decent enough and someone we might see in the Premier League next season, I know Liverpool are following him closely. Right now I rate England on par with Germany. Something they were far from two years ago. England have progessed steadily while Germany have gone slightly backwards imo. But when the tournament arrives I'm sure we'll see a more resolved Germany as usual. Right now I think Germany, England, France, Spain and Italy can all go all the way and win it, with France my favourites at the moment.
Mmm....... I don't want this to turn into another Rooney argument, but he should definitely be in the squad if he's fit.
