Recalling the clubs utterings when the folks in E1/3 were cleansed I'm of the opinion that some bright spark just adds the words ''improving'' and ''atmosphere'' as a sop to justify their actions - if the whole plan isn't dramatically altered then the long term future of Hull City is in serious doubt, children NEED to be concessions, we don't hook them now they're lost to us.
Given that most people object to the lack of consultation by the club on this matter, anyone know if we can expect the Supporter's Trust board to canvass member opinion on their proposals before sending them off to the club?
We've never completely recovered from the 1990s when we lost a generation of support. Just when we were starting to get a generation hooked, their dads, who had been hoping their kids would stop wanting to go to the KC, have had their prayers answered. You still see plenty of young kids in Top 4 gear in Hull, kids who are young enough to have known only the HCFC of the last 10 successful years, but who no doubt have an older family member with self-esteem issues, whispering in their ears, grooming them to follow LFC, even Arsenal and the vermin. This barmy scheme is a godsend to these turds and a body blow to making HCFC the club of choice for football-loving youngsters in this area. How many of us if next season was our first season would be hooked for life? An unwelcoming club, no warmth or welcome, absent owners and a '**** off home the game's over' attitude from the people who administer the stadium. Maddening to see these self-inflicted problems and PR own goals, just when we should be capitalising on our recent success.
Lifted from Amber Nectar First time poster here, Ive listened to a load of the podcasts though. I'm a huge city fan, but live in Kent so I don't get to a load of game. Get to about 1-2 home games a season, but get to a lot of away games. Probably done about 10-11 games so far this season. So the whole membership thing doesn't directly effect me. But has a huge effect on the person who made me a Hull City fan, my grandad. He's been going for years! Probably only a handful of people left in the KC who've been going longer than him. This season was the first season since the KC opened he hasn't been in the west upper, solely because he can't handle the stairs anymore. And where's he been this season? South stand. Where he can't go next season. He simply cannot afford to go in west lower, isn't allowed in south. Won't go in north or east, as he's not 'that kind of fan'. He is nearly 90 and they want him to pay top dollar to watch his beloved team. And City has become even more important these past few seasons due to his wife's deteriorating health. It's his escape. They want him to pay so much, probably two to three times what he did this season to 'earn his stripes' he's earned his stripes long before those Allams came to Hull. And if something doesn't happen, the club are going to lose one if its' longest serving fans. If this membership scheme was around 15 or so years ago, I may have never gone to my first City game.
" Earn your stripes". Think he like my dad and many of us on here did that decades ago. Good post pal
Don't worry Arnold Lane your Grandad is not alone by any means. This madness is a long way from happening, imo.
Sorry, it is being merged, it's just one of many similar posts and should be with the others. But tell him he can probably stay in the South, I understand only part of the stand is be made family only and most won't have to move.
Post above off AN is not mine, just one of many that I've read, or spoken about to mates. Is there ANYONE who has expressed support for it? I wanted a reason to start going back to City home games regularly, not another one that pushes me further away which this hair brained scheme does.
I support it. The Allams are the best owners this club hve ever had. They've led us to our highest moments in our 111 and a bit year history. They've recorded record turnovers, recruited our best and most succesful ever manager, shelled out for and convinced the best and most succesful ever bunch of players ever to wear the Hull Tigers shirt, many of them internationals and all of them with widely recognised pedigree. They've invested in and secured state of the art youth facilities. But more than anything, they're business people and their talent lies in making money. If they think its the right thing to do, it is, and they have my utmost support.
Money in the bank is safe. Money in football isn't. Wherever your millions are they are entitled to interest.
