I think they could sell him for 11-12. Which still isn't great business.

    B4F.
I hope you mean €10-€12 million.
There is a snowballs chance in hell of them getting £12 million.

Why? How many did he score last year? He does hold more value that 7.

Look at the prices people are paying atm.

Who cares what his sell on value is. He has contributed to the success we have had since he has been here which has more than covered his transfer value. Not everything is about sell on value. That's why myself and Swarbs ( I think it was Swarbs ) were saying that the player is worth the price you pay if they can contribute to success at a club that increases that clubs income.

Fans don't really care about sell on value they care about what the club achieves with those players.

It's hardly bad business though. As I said before he has played a big role in keeping us at the top of English football whilst being here. Worth every penny in my opinion even if he ended up going for free in 2 years.

Your trying to make out he was the worst striker in the premiership last lesson. You do realize he scored the most goals.

If Carroll helps you break into the top 4 ( or better ) who will care about his fee ? Or sell on value etc etc. I think the same about Berba - he has been quality for us and as stated before, worth every penny in my opinion

Overall true. But for a couple of years its not great value. You cannot measure how much he has contributed to United success and how much value that holds.

You can however measure transfer value.

Its more to do with age.
When players hit 30 plus their value depreciates faster.
Spurs would be lucky to get £5 million for Robbie Keane now. They won't get much of a come-back because out of that £5 million, they have to pay Liverpool the £3 million outstanding.

His goals certainly helped us win the title last season, that more then makes back what we payed for him.

You don't simply buy a player so that you can sell him on for a profit at a later date. You buy a player to bring success to a club. Players like Berbatov have bought us success in the way of trophies so the money we paid for him has been more than made back.

So if Andy Carroll propels Liverpool back into the top 4 and beyond, will he be considered value for money by non Liverpool fans.
I reckon he will be value for money.I'll tell you why.Kenny knows what he bought,he bought someone similar for £3.3 million from Southampton for Blackburn(which was a then record) in 1993.He was also a average prolific geordie. What was his name again...oh yeah...Alan Shearer. How did that turn out.
According to Alan Shearer,Andy Carroll is better than he was at the same age.Shearer also believes that Andy Carroll couldn't be managed by better manager. He should know, the manager that signed him...signed Andy Carroll.

It's impossible to say how much his goals were worth in value though, and how much they directly contributed.

By looking at goals alone you ignore the poeple who made the goals and stopped the opposition from scoring. Try measuring their contribution in relation to Berbatov and all the other factors that contrinbuted to successs.

There is no doubt in United's forcast there is nothing about how much players 'might' help win and to a specific value.

    You can't do it.

I agree. But there is an argument to be had regaring value of player and success contribution in value.

Depends on what he does from now on, if he has another season like last scoring tweny league goals then yes clearly. However, if he goes back to 10/11 a season then you wuld have to say people expected more when he was bought.

If you were to sell Carroll now and were receiving offers I would say you'd be lucky to get £10million for him.

You were ripped off big time. If Man Utd had made that signing you would be laughing your arse's off at Liverpool.

If you were going to buy Rooney now,and he was 18 I reckon you would get him for £7 million. You paid £20 million too much.Compare him to Luis Suarez,Luis Suarez has more skill, balance, composure and scores more goals...and cost less.
Its just my opinion that Man United got ripped off on Kevin Davies mark 2.Thats all Rooney is or will ever be.

    Incorrect.

Berbatov has recently finished top scorer in the team that won the league. His goals also won us 21 points ( games where his goals won the game ). Now the 10s of millions earned in winning the title have helped repay some of Berbatov relatively high fee ( bargain compared to some fees nowadays ) and his 'for the team' attitude has helped fergie bring through the fantastic Hernandez.

Today Berbatovs worth £15million give or take.
