    How about this:

Which Watford player's mum didn't want him to join Everton and why?

If brian is right, a reason might be Sir Everton Weekes, the former West Indies cricketer who is from Barbados. One of the issues with West Indies cricket is the rivalry between the islands and as the Barnes family are from Jamaica, they wouldn't want him joining a club that has the same name as a famous Barbadian.

Not John Barnes. Bit more recent and something to do with a certain Everton players 'reputation'.

Andy Gray was well past it when Ashley was looking to leave. Last clue, this fans favourite ended up going to Birmingham instead.

Tommy Mooney chose Birmingham over Everton so I guess it was him ? I don't know anything about his mother - is she a Liverpool fan ?

Cheers Bloother. In which football competition do you have penalty shoot outs to decide matches after normal time ? The referee also has 3 coloured cards to choose from. For a bonus....all matches in this competition are played on the same pitch - where is it ?

Last year the Italians planned to introduce a green card in Serie B games - anything to do with that?

Some clues here. The tounament started in 2007 and replaced a forerunner tournament which was founded by a certain Jim Mulligan (now living in Westminster) - the original tounament was first won by an English team. Altogether players from 65 different countries contest this cup.

All yours BB. It is the Clericus Cup, played between the various seminaries in the Vatican. Originally called the Rome Cup. The referee has a choice of red, yellow or blue cards - the last of which means being sin binned for 5 minutes. They do actually play in normal football kits as opposed to cassocks (otherwise it would be hard to nutmeg an opponent). Apparently Giovanni Trappatoni is interested in managing the Vatican City national team. Over to you.

    Cheers cologne.:emoticon-0148-yes:

It's been ages since I indulged so am scratching my head for questions...

There are probably quite a few on here who remember the Aberfan disaster- but I wonder if any know the name of the former Watford player who was born there?
