If brian is right, a reason might be Sir Everton Weekes, the former West Indies cricketer who is from Barbados. One of the issues with West Indies cricket is the rivalry between the islands and as the Barnes family are from Jamaica, they wouldn't want him joining a club that has the same name as a famous Barbadian.

Some clues here. The tounament started in 2007 and replaced a forerunner tournament which was founded by a certain Jim Mulligan (now living in Westminster) - the original tounament was first won by an English team. Altogether players from 65 different countries contest this cup.

The referee has a choice of red, yellow or blue cards - the last of which means being sin binned for 5 minutes. They do actually play in normal football kits as opposed to cassocks (otherwise it would be hard to nutmeg an opponent).
