Bristol Rovers 3-0 Cambridge United Attendance: 10, 262 (443) Rovers won their sixth game in a row with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Cambridge United. A brace from Billy Bodin in the first half got Rovers rolling before Matty Taylor put the game to bed with his 22nd goal of the season 15 minutes from time. Darrell Clarke made one change to the team that beat Newport County last week as Daniel Leadbitter came into the side to replace Tom Lockyer who is away on International duty with Wales Under-21's. The opening exchanges of the game were very stop start with both sides committing needless fouls before Billy Bodin burst the game into life on the 10th minute. Bodin received a ball to feet from Chris Lines, turned his marker before advancing onto goal. The U's defence allowed him to run before the Welshman unleashed a cracking shot from 25-yards leaving Will Norris no chance. With the whole Memorial Stadium in full voice, Darrell Clarke's men went in search of a second and it wasn't long before they found it. After good work from Daniel Leadbitter on the Rovers right hand side, he created space for a pinpoint cross to the near post where Billy Bodin was on hand to head home his second of the afternoon from a tight angle. Both sides exchanged long range efforts as Luke Berry's strike hit Steve Mildenhall in the chest whilst at the other end Lee Brown saw his effort blocked by the U's defence before Cristian Montano fired a volley narrowly over. Darrell Clarke's men continued to press and add to what was a very dominant first half performance as Cristian Montano took the ball superbly on his thigh before smashing the ball goalward where he stun the palms of Will Norris before Cambridge were able to clear. Montano continued to be a threat in the second half as he calmly flicked the ball over his defender before trying to catch out Will Norris with an audacious lobbed effort but Norris was wise to it and gathered with ease. With the hour mark approaching, Shaun Derry made a double substitution to try and turn the tide of the game but the changes made little impact as Rovers looked the much better side. Former Cambridge man Rory Gaffney was involved in almost every attacking move for the home side and it was his unbelievable cross-field pass that picked out Matty Taylor who forced a great save from Norris low down to his left. Hull City loanee and second half substitute Max Clark tried his luck from range with 20 minutes to go and almost caught out Steve Mildenhall who could only palm the effort behind for a corner. From the resulting corner, Mildenhall made a ridiculous save from point blank to deny Robbie Simpson. Rovers kept pressing in a hope to improve their goal difference and were rewarded with just over 15 minutes to go as Matty Taylor calmly tucked home his 22nd goal of the season after composing himself superbly in the penalty area. Darrell Clarke's side looked comfortable on the ball for the entire game and played out the game until the full time whistle securing Rovers sixth win in a row. Rovers: Mildenhall; Leadbitter, J.
