Unfortunately the suicide bomber is a whole new breed of animal and can't see what can be done to stop them

Minimise the risk.... Deport every one of them that hasn't got a right to be here or that has dual nationality. Any ****er found to be in anyone supporting the scum cowards gets banged up till they are too old to be much aid to those who would end our way of life.

Your opinion may change Eire, if they start letting off bombs in town or the airport etc etc I think we as a country would be a soft target and I doubt we are ready for them. I agree that you shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush, but it's hard not to, they don't try to integrate with the locals. But each to their own..<ok>

My opinion of Isis is same as everyone else. Get rid of them all but that doesn't mean you can eliminate every Muslim in the process. Like I've said, you couldn't kill every Catholic to eliminate the IRA. We're not the only country not ready for them. Belgium were on high alert for weeks and yet couldn't prevent any of the **** that went down

The "troubles" in Ireland were not necessarily caused by religion, even though those on opposite sides were if differing religious views. The IRA were just that, an Irish Republican Army, many of who's original members were not Roman Catholics. Michael Collins, for example, was of the Church Of Ireland, Anglican catholic, not Roman. Over the years it became an 'us n them' situation caused, mainly in my opinion, by the attitude of the Northern Protestants towards the Romans. Like you, Chips, I can fully understand the Republican's cause but cannot in any way agree with the methods they employed in trying to get their message across. But with the ISIS, I have no such understanding. They are simply a barbarous, murdering bunch of scum that needs rubbing out. They are unable to comprehend that mass murder will get them nowhere to a result that no-one really understands, even themselves.

Agreed they need wiping out. However, apparently there's an area in Brussels where many of them live. For some reason, despite knowing that, the authorities wait for an atrocity before searching these area.. Maybe a form of internment camp would be a solution. Isolate the ****ers from the rest of society if they have any info on them

    In general,

The IRA didn't have suicide bombers as such, but they had plenty of members who blew themselves up trying to set their own bombs, this included anyone and anything within the blast range.

The IRA lost a lot of support, both sides of the border when they started killing women and children.

I agree with Eire, you can't tar every Muslim with same brush, I have Muslim friends who drink, gamble, eat Pork and do everything Muslims aren't suppose too however, having said that, when the big war comes, and it will, who's side will those Muslims be fighting on.

Thing with Muslims, and any religion really is, they have staunch fanatical leaders or groups, they then have active followers and believers, then comes the none active followers/believers followed by the just faith followers, then you have the silent none active none faith followers, it's like a circled target. Again, it begs the question, who's side will they be fighting on during the big war.

Something I've asked as well, Eire. Why is it after an event the authorities can always do a raid and find lots of explosives, weapons etc? Why do they never seem to find them before?

That's what might happen here Brisbane, the authorities will only react after the event. I think there's a feeling of, they won't attack little old Ireland.

The story of the rising and how it was put down, 100 years ago over Easter is a tale to all of how consequences can take forever to resolve. If the British hadnt responded to the limited rising in Dublin by shooting the 14 leaders of the small minority who had republican sentiments at that time things wouldn't have changed, the general public wouldn't have supported the cause, which manifested itself as the IRA and PIRA and all the equally ****e loyalist bollix oop north. Ireland would still be benefiting from being part of the United Kingdom if the Black and Tans hadn't got a bit jittery with the trigger finger. :bandit:

See I did learn something on my trip.

Beyond a joke! Paris suspect Abdeslam questioned for just ONE HOUR as he was 'too tired'
BELGIUM authorities have been heavily criticised for questioning Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam for just one hour as he was ‘too tired’ - fearing they missed the opportunity to stop the Brussels massacre.

    GETTY

Salah Abdelslam, The Brussels suspects and aftermath of Paris attack
The ‘mastermind’ behind the Paris bloodbath which left 130 people dead was finally caught caught after four months on the run.

Abdeslam, believed to be the only jihadi left alive after he backed out of detonating his suicide vest, is widely thought to have had a hand in planning the deadly attacks in Belgium after he was found hiding out in the city.

But despite police arresting the suspect before the attacks, he was questioned for only one hour as he was said to be “too tired”.

In custody for four days before multiple blasts rocked the Belgium capital, it is feared officials missed the opportunity to get crucial information about the planned atrocities, potentially saving lives.
