On the other thread Windy says he can only get 10% reduction of time, so 5 and half-ish years. Not sure where Windy got that from.

Just what they quoted the judge as saying on the radio.
    I don't know - time will tell.

Johnsons sister is involved in the facebook account...it was her ex that got a warning though.
Johnson got his money by being unsuspended by the club by claiming that he was going to plead not guilty...so he did make money from pretending to be innocent when he in fact he pleaded guilty.
Him being sued is not the family making money from the case in the way you implied imo...it is getting compensation for her...and I don't get what's wrong with that.
Ain't trying to suggest you support him or say you think he's done nothing wrong...just think you are being harsh on her

6 years is way above what I thought he would get, and I believe that the judge has rightly took into account the way he has put the girl through hell my not pleading guilty of anything until the last minute, and not showing the slightest sign of remorse..

Too right im not supporting Johnson, he has thrown his lucrative lifestyle down the pan, along with seeing his little girl grow up, she will be 6 when he gets out, assuming he does his full stint. he has got what he deserves.
I have not been harsh on the girl/victim in the slightest bit to my knowledge, i have just said that i think the family will now sue him for compensation.
I don't think the money will help the girl get over the emotional nightmare she has had to endure over the last year, but would they sue if it had been a labourer on minimum wage? Its all hypothetical anyway until it does or does not happen.
Like i said to Tel on an earlier post that if they do not sue then i will apologise on this site for thinking that the family will use this to get money out of it.

But it's your inference that they're somehow 'using' this scenario as an opportunity to make money mate. Why shouldn't they, he's ruined the girl's life, if it costs them £5m to go and set up a new life somewhere else in the world where she can be anonymous and try to get over this, then why is that a bad thing?

They definitely should sue him, for every ****ing penny he's got and I'd think no less of them for it.

She gets abused in the street. If she can find a place on this planet to avoid being abused by passers by, yes, yes it does.

They wouldn't sue a minimum wage earner cos even if they won they'd never get any money...as you rightly said money will not make her get over the emotional nightmare of the past year but it could pay for counselling or therapy for her and her family...it could also pay for them to move away...some people "outed" her so maybe getting away and making a new start will help her in the long run. This is a good reason to sue imo and it is with that in mind that made me say that I think you were being harsh on her and her family.
Anyway, no offence meant on my part

There's talk within the club that this could be perfect for both Sunderland and Johnson. He should he be out in 3 years (likely outcome) when Sunderland will likely be in League 2.

He'll be desperate to sign for a club and you will love to have him back as he'll probably excel in that division.

    Every cloud... eh

Just thinking that Johnson got fined 50000 for court costs.
That leaves us the tax payers to pay for him while he is inside, so why can't the courts fine him enough money to pay for his own stay while he is locked up?
Just something else for him to think about for a few years.
