    RIP to a true great

I believe he quit smoking as soon as he had the heart bypass in the 90s but was diagnosed with lung cancer last year, not sure if he'd started again or if the damage was done, dunno how long it takes for that kind of cancer to start or what the specifics are, like if it can come on 20-30 years after your last cig

“Liverpool are like Bayern Munich. In footballing terms, we are talking about two horrible sides. In my opinion, a team is horrible if it is incapable of putting three passes together.” Johan Cruyff.

    Yep very astute <ok>

    RIP

"Enormously impressed by Rafael Benitez's side last week after they put eight goals passed the Spanish and English champions, Cruyff wants to avoid a tie with Liverpool when the quarter-final draw takes place on Friday.

Adamant his feelings are shared among the six other clubs who will feature in the next round, Cruyff said: "Against Madrid, Liverpool became a steamroller, and for sure, many of those who feared playing against Manchester United don't want to face Liverpool now.

"Because of the manner in which they demolished Madrid and then thrashed United they are clearly the side everyone will want to avoid."

Yeah, a very "astute" football genius.

    RIP.<rose>

I just want to say that looking about today....

Look at the influence still of this man.

Guardiola. Top man. It all flows from Barcelona in 1988 to 1994. City's director of football. Koeman......

It's actually amazing how under valued he is compared to the egos around that think they are it.

This guy created Barcelona. Gave them belief and first European Cup.

    Rip.
