Liverpool striker Christian Benteke "finds it hard to understand" why manager Jurgen Klopp "ignores" him.
Benteke, 25, has been out of favour since the German became boss, starting just five of the last 16 games.
Klopp said he "had a few words, nothing else" after appearing to react angrily to a Benteke miss in Liverpool's 3-2 defeat at Southampton on Sunday.

"In January I didn't want to leave and it's still my desire to succeed at Liverpool," said Benteke.
"We'll see at the end of the season."

Former Aston Villa front man Benteke has scored just eight goals in 35 appearances since arriving for £32.5m in July 2015, with only one strike coming in 2016.
Fit-again Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi have been the preferred options up front since the turn of the year.
"Some team-mates said that I was lucky with the arrival of Klopp because I certainly would play," Benteke told Belgium's Sport/Voetbalmagazine.

"When your coach says he wanted to take you to Dortmund and a little later you sit at the same club and he ignores you it is hard to understand."

Benteke was in the squad for Belgium's international friendly against Portugal on Tuesday, which has now been cancelled because of the attacks in Brussels.

I understand it, nothing too difficult. Klopp looks at Benteke in training and thinks he's not what he needs.

He's then given a couple of chances and wastes them by not being able to hit the proverbial barn door.

This has made my day

Never thought he was what we needed, never thought he was good enough to take us where we want to be. Shift him on, give the money to Klopp to spend (not the committee) and we can start to build a proper team.

I'm really looking forward to next season already. Exciting times :)

Obviously being red the riot act for missing a great chance has angered him but in short... big mistake.

He was never going to be successful at LFC.

Such a waste of money from the buffoon who used to manage us.

Ah well, we have Sturridge, Firmino and Origi who can play the role far better and we'll likely add another.

He also said he'd have never signed if he wasn't going to first choice.

    He's sunk at Liverpool.

He signed for our previous blarney spouting manager on an ott transfer fee full of empty promises and he probably gets more in wages from us than he would anywhere else.

If it's any consolation to him he can rest assured that the vast majority of LFC supporters also wish he'd never signed.

    On the plus side:

At least he is content being a bench warmer. He has ambition...

... Nah, I say sack him too.

I think he knows that and has done that interview knowing this full well that he's off in the Summer.

    yup.

    its all about attitude.

On his day he is unplayable. and he'll do well elsewhere but he's proved hes's not got the right mentality to compete for a spot and has shown he's not got it.

Attitude and ability - he's extremely limited as we've seen. Not good enough and never was

Probably not but at least if Real buy back Morata we will know Juve will have 23.5M in the bank so we can shut down the "poor Italian" part payment dogshite they'll try to spout if they come in for Benteke....

He's not talented. He's limited but he's very good at it.

If Juventus go for him, fair play. But I presume it will be the same scenario where they look at him and decide against it. Just like Klopp did at Dortmund.

Oh i think you'll find he's quite talented.

Excellent strike of a ball, a proper striker there.

but If i were juve.. i'd be seeing a guy who buckled under barely a bit of big club pressure. I'd not buy, but someone will.

A proper striker doesn't mean as many clear cut chances as he does. He never had this man one and one chances at Villa - majority of his opportunities came from wide positions.

He is a clean striker of the ball and a monster in the air. But that's it.

His first season at villa was excellent and that was because he had pace - he was able to run onto balls. But then he suffered the Achilles injury and he lost it and hasn't been the same since.

Jonathan northcroft spoke to some of the Villa medical staff who had oversight of his injury and they said he'll never be the same player again, and any medical professional would have spotted this - which indicates our medical team were negligent when we signed him.

I would say the medical team are not par se but the guy saying i want benteke turned up and said he's brill i want him.

the medical teams job is not to say he's pace is x you still want.. yup 2 legs, check, yup blood tests, check. scans, check.. job done

fact is he ripped up the prem last year once fit and that led to fee... AND AND will lead to us not losing very much at all. just the release fee premium villa forced out of us.

I think we need to accept that he's a useless lump and we will be getting rid of him finally.

    Win win for everyone.
