wasn't the original plan to make the uwe 21,700 with the ability to extend it to 27,000 if required?? I think wael will build it to its maximum....? with regards to the mem, im surprised non of the other supermarkets...i.e lidl, aldi, B&M, ect,ect have not had one eye on the protential?? with planning in place.
I think radice is keen to keep it sport related, with her new found love for all sport in Bristol!!!!!!!!!!
I dont think any supermarkets would be interested in fear after what happened from TRASH. Looks like will be housing but TRASH will appeal against this too as they want it, as you say, sports related. Now new houses creates more people who could be using the local shops creating more revenue. But nope. They want it left for sports. They shouldnt be allowed to dictate to whome we sale the mem. They will appeal everything meaning we could be stuck.
In November, Bristol City Council listed the ground as an ‘Asset of Community Value’ in recognition of its “current use as a local sporting, cultural and recreational interest community stadium”. The application was submitted by The Bishopston Society. This is what they want. Anything else will be appealed again and again: In the event that a new stadium for Bristol Rovers is built on the city’s outskirts, might not the Memorial Ground be used as a training ground? Or, in the spirit of its founders, developed for participatory sport to bring on new talent and help underpin the health and well-being of the city’s population? I sincerely hope that this inspirational and very special sports ground has a sporting future. https://memorialgroundbristol.wordpress.com/
Watch this.... from Jamie Carstairs (the knob who applied for the whole land to become a war memorial that caused more months delay) 8min 38secs in If you are still calm after watching this then fair shout http://www.madeinbristol.tv/player/?playercat=76589&vid=r6vb9u5n
I h I have a feeling it will be houses after we leave? if the kids want to kick a ball against the next door neighbours garage door as a good will gesture to keep the sporting culture alive, then fair enough??
yep your right, he really is a knob!!! perhaps he would like to pay us the going rate for the site, and take it on himself to turn the land into a sporting facility......that would be jolly nice of the bloke. id even treat him to a new hat!!
Would he want to give BRFC £15million which helps us get UWE or Replace Bristol Sports pitch each season?
Well he spent a fortune on having a top end desso pitch, and that hasn't worked! It makes Newports ground look like s bowling green!!!
I think he would rather spend a fortune and replace their pitch each season than give us money for the mem and have 2 stadiums to maintain. I cant see anything other than housing going there. Maybe a playing field too so kids can go play what they want when they want.
Your right captain, it will be houses one day no doubt... Although I'm looking for to the new stadium, A part of me will miss the mem.
Yep. It 'is' and soon hopefully be 'was' our home. I miss Twerton to be honest. Im too young to remember Eastville.
You must be of similar age to me then... ? I grew up with the twerton years, and just missed out on eastville.
