are you looking forward to it, or is it a waste of £9 billion at a time when cuts are crippling the country?

I don't give a ****. I only really care about football. I don't mind boxing, and can just about stomach cricket and maybe tennis at a stretch, but there is no way I would travel down to London and pay £100 or so to watch dressage, gymnastics, 15,000m running or some other snorefest.

I'm really looking forward to it. Not that chuffed with the ticket allocations as i only got football tickets but as a Londoner I'm very excited about the opportuntiy to give wrong directions to loads of foreign tourists. Doubtless my Glaswegian brethern are looking forward to doing the same in 2014......

I was listening to the radio this morning and it seemed there was a north/south divide on the games. Any Northern contributors didn't give a ****, whereas the southerners tended to be more interested.

It pisses me off that we're spending £9bn on it (plus the rest) but I'll end up watching it. I love big sporting events. It's the only time in my life when I ever watch **** like rowing and table tennis.

It's just jealousy really - and i don't blame you. None of us give a toss about the sport - it just means for 2 weeks we can be really bloody beastly to visitors from all around the world. It's going to be fantatsic.

It might be jealousy for some, but not for me. I genuinely don't care, because I only really watch football. I didn't care when they had the Commonwealth Games in Manchester (I was away travelling at the time I think). If they had the World Cup/European Championships in England, but for some strange reason didn't use Old Trafford or the Council House, then I might be jealous.

I'm looking very much forward to the Ladies Topless Beach Volleyball and the Synchronised ****ing.

Nice to know when the country is on it knees we can still put on a show for the world whilst our elderly die not being able to afford their heating bills and the rest of the country is struggling with the recession and crippling taxes and rip offs.

It's wot makes us Britishers that's wot it is.

    Arse of a country.

Seb Coe should be ****in' shot. Wonder how much he's making out of this. I don't not pay my license fee to watch this overhyped expensive drivel.

Yeah that irks me as well. Same with any gong which is handed out to any old celebrity ****er these days.

Anyway, I much preferred Steve Ovett, he was more a people man. Seb Coe was and always will be a stuck-up snob. Tosser.
