Who or what type of manager and players do you want to see come in? I'd personally welcome a Holloway/Warnock/Dyce/Bruce type appointment to help rebuild and get us up the league. In terms of players we need to retain some of the hard working players, and young ones and get a number of battle hardened players in too. Someone at the back in a Kilcline type mould and a Lee Clark type player in the middle. I'm not up on my Championship players so don't really know who is out there.
Is it 100 % certain that Rafa WILL go ? Perhaps if he has assurances ref budget , control over signings , he will stay ?
I'd love him to stay but he is a PL manager, and a top 8 one at that so can't see him managing in the Championship. He would go with my blessing as he at least came in and gave it a go. If he did stay.. and took us up.... jeeeesuuussss..... the bloke will become a club legend and be given the keys to the city I think.
I just find it strange that he has signed a 3 year deal . Agree he has a get out clause if you go down , perhaps though he will look at it as a challenge ?
There's so much managerial movement happening this summer in the upper echelons of the Prem, he'd be a fool not to get into the mix.
After the recent ramblings of our esteemed owner, I'm not so sure that its nailed on that Rafa will stay if we do avoid the drop. The owner has zero love, zero ambition and is planning zero investment in the club........................ what a proposition that must be for one of the best managers in the world.
I'm already looking forward to next season. If we avoid relegation, hopefully, it will lead to something better under Rafa. Should relegation happen - It's not the end of the world, it's only football and nothing else. So, I couldn't give a f***. Get shot of the dregs bringing the club to its knees and start again.
I'd I don't think he meant that. I think he meant he doesn't know what he's doing, and includes picking Charnley & Carr in that sentiment. He knows he can't get it right, so what can he do? He has Rafa in place and if he wants to get this club back to a saleable position he needs to keep him.
He doesn't know what he's doing.............. but he stubbornly keeps on doing it. The village idiot can see Charnley is completely out of his depth and Carr has too much power for a chief scout, but does he change it? Not a chance, because they are cheap and compliant and NUFC is just an extension of his stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap sports wear shops. He knows exactly what he's doing. He does it in all of his other businesses too. He has no love for the club or the fans or the history or the area, non. He wants to do everything on the cheap and if we had finished in a comfortable 8 - 12 spot last season, instead of dodging the relegation bullet on the last day, that £80 mill would still be sat in the bank. He never spent the money to 'give it a real go' he spent it because he **** himself that we nearly went down and thought it would guarantee survival this season. Only he stuck with his policy of getting cheap labour in to do the job for him. Hence the McClaren disaster. If he had employed a proper manager not that ****ing grinning idiot and took the gin bottle away from Carr then things may be different. Its well documented that he bought the club to advertise SD. Its got **** all to do with 'wanting to change football' or whatever cobblers he has come out with. And he has never been able to sell the club when it all went sour because the greedy bastard wants too much for it. He is a farce and his 'reign' has been a ****ing farce from start to finish................ only I cant see when the finish will be. I only pray that we either stay up and he offloads, or we go down and bounce straight back up and he offloads. SD is going down the swanny and when he takes it back into private hands, his hands, then hopefully he will need the money from the sale of NUFC to do so.
I think so too. And looking across the boardroom table at that rotund, stumpy knecked little ****e hawk Charnley and Carrs booze stained gnashers is not a pretty sight. Benitez will see through those two chancers in a heart beat, especially Charnley.
Chris Hughton. His football isn't always sparkling but he sets superb foundations. I think, given time at this club, Chris would have built a strong side with the financial power this club has produced over the years. Pie in the sky, but you did ask.
I refuse to believe he will leave in the summer, I still refuse to beleieve we will go down, so this summer will be quite a shock for me! I'm not sure whetehr there is much we can do to convice him to stay should we be relegated. I'd be so overcome with joy if we managed to get out of the sh!t, stay up and keep Benny! If we go down, pay the compo and get Chris Houghton back in. pay him double what he's earning at Brighton.
If this proves correct, then by jesus I'll guarantee to get my arse out in Fenwicks window at a game of Nev's choosing whilst wearing mackem shirt.
