aye m8 ..got bored one week built a ubuntu pc server with omikey cardreader ,tried oscam or cccam ...worked a treat lol
I would normally agree with you on VM, but they seem to have changed policy recently. Last year I tried the old I'm leaving call a couple of times and got nowhere. But in January, I was told by a couple of mates to try a more subtle approach, that they had used. Instead, of telling them you're quitting, go along the lines of how you don't want to leave, but its got to the point you cant afford it anymore. Within 2 or 3 minutes I was offered a £50 reduction in cost for 9 months (as a loyalty reward), albeit, on a 18 month deal, but told to ring back in September for a further loyalty reward.
Platinum IPTV. I get EVERYTHING. All UK sports and movies, setanta, premier sports, and other sports channels, 13 Bein Sports channels, dozens and dozens of other foreign sports channels, French, Spanish, Italian, German, American, Turkish channels, about thousands of movies which you can watch on demand too. About £70 for the box and £170 for 12 months subscription. I think the quality/reliability of these internet based services such as this and Kodi are going to depend on the server you're connecting to. As a back up I will make sure Freeview is in every room with a TV - half the time I'm watching a normal UK channel anyway. I recently cancelled Virgin (paying £118/month if you can believe that, I'm sure you can) and reduced the package to £28/month for phone and broadband. They just said "yes, we've cancelled that for you" when I called. I did get a call from them the following week, though, asking what I was paying and if he could 'do something' for me and he just said he didn't think he could get the price down to anywhere near what I would be paying in the future. When I said I was paying £118/month he said "oh, yeah, that's quite a lot isn't it?" Err, yeah!
How many consecutive years have you been with Sky Albert? The more loyalty you have shown, the more generosity they will show you. I've been with them a good 14 years maybe now and I can pretty much dictate to them what I pay for the whole package. Last time I made them give me the HD pack for nothing because I'm colourblind and I refuse to watch the sport pack in SD and without sport I don't want Sky TV and I don't want my internet with a separate company so they had no choice. I pay about 30% of the advertised prices. Don't ever take the offer from customer services, cancellations have better offers and even better offers come from the retentions team who will harass you for a full 30 days during your notice period after you "cancel your subscription".
Cant say I'm that impressed with the Kodi box my son has. No different to playing through laptop and/or android tablet/phone. He's just ordered a converter to play direct on TV through his Samsung tablet. Digressing slightly ACS, but, I've been downloading Movies/TV Series onto my tablet and transferring onto laptop when I'm away. Same with watching football, tethering tablet to laptop and watching live on Sky Sports or whatever.
got a fully loaded amazon fire stick ..kodi and all that for me man hut.full sky package multi room hd blah blah..86 bar all in.
So if I got one of those card share boxes what is the likelihood of getting rumbled? And do I need to keep a subscription with sky?
no it diff m8 you can get linux based sat receiver twin tuners to record and watch diff chanel ..but not exactly like sly and its green planner button m8 .. also cant see you getting rumbled m8 ..you also need ethernet cable from router to sat reciever connect at all times
Hi couple queries I downloaded Kodi on the Laptop and plug in the HDMI to the TV, I get the majority of games but always tend to have issues when trying to watch Nufc (typical) Does an amazon fire stick work better? would it be worth spending money on? Also apart from Phoenix, Exodus, Genesis, Robocop, NJM Sports and Money Sports, are there any better add-ons? I get a lot of buffering and am on a constant search for links and I get issues with buffering despite having Virgin's most up to date and powerful broadband? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, the best offer you get will be after you cancel. They threatened to take my F1HD off me if I left then changed my mind, but they never did. Hey you can even use the excuse that your club will be in the Championship next season so you'll see even less of them what with BT nicking half the Pl games and that
We decided to cancel our Sky subscription last time I was home as I am the only one who watches it now and its a bit much paying 60quid a month for the footie, Judge Judy and Homes under the Hammer for about 8 weeks a year. As Tel predicts was offered a significant reduction and a few free months so took that but will probably cancel soon. To be honest spend most of my time watching US & UK Series downloaded by the Mrs using Torrentz (I think). We tried the cheap satellite box but the channel changing took too long. If you use BT for Broadband you should get BT Footie for free but never got round to organising it.
Yeah, you don't even need to have BT, you just need to know somebody who doesn't like sports who does have BT internet, like my mother in law. I take her free sports on my Sky Box, it takes 5 minutes to set up online, then I added the rest of the BT channels at £5 per month, to her account... she hasn't noticed yet.
No dishes. All through your Internet connection. I don't think you can run multiroom boxes of it like sky. Someone I know used to put it into pubs and they sorted me out. They have a reliable server to connect to but I couldn't vouch for other providers. You will need 3mbps Internet stored to get HD channels. Google Platinum IPTV and you can see what you get.
We got a NowTv and kept it running alongside Sky for a month to make see if it was any good. We find that great and we cancelled Sky pretty quickly after. For £10 a month we get Sky atlantic, Fox, Sky one, Nick jr and Disney channel (plus a few others) and also get Sky movies. Having said that, we now also have a Kodi box for the 3pm kick offs but if you want to stay safe then NowTv is really good, takes a bit of adjusting watching things mainly on demand but we still get to watch Game of thrones, Walking dead etc and it's far cheaper than Sky even with movies on top.
Genesis is now defunct, Exodus replaced it. Download Cherry Pie and Erotik.....go on, you know you want to I watch Football Highlights which is ok and reliable. Regarding buffering, I think it is a common theme - I've got fibre broadband and have problems with certain add-ons. Operation Robocop seems to run ok out of all the sports channels. I do think your broadband speed will depend on the time of day, how many devices are running in your household, etc. I can only run one Ethernet cable from my router without there being major problems. The Wi-Fi is fine even with three or four devices running.
