People in Hull don't refer to City as Hull, as round here Hull refers to a local rugby league team. That being the case, it annoys some when City are referred to as Hull on a Hull City message board. If you want to piss those people off, then carry on calling us Hull, but I'd suggest it would eminently more sensible to just refer to us as City.
It's still dumb, we can't call ourselves Hull because of a rugby club that has FC in its name... go figure. But I'm guessing the fact Hull FC are almost 40 year older than city played a big part in getting priority over things.
I don't do it intentionally to annoy but anyone who gets annoyed is a pedant and not worth the time of day to alter the habit. We chant "Come on you Hull" at games so I'll carry on referring to us in the same way as those fans do.
Apparently someone from thousands of miles away, who doesn't go to games knows more than us people from Hull who actually go. what a complete tool! His initial response should have been, 'Oh I didn't know that, fair enough', that would have ended the posts, instead he acts like a bellend and tries to make out he's right and the rest of us are wrong.

Yes you are. You have no concept of the animosity felt towards Hull FC from a large majority of City fans. You have no idea of whats transpired in the past to cause this animosity, you aren't from Hull therefore you will never understand so stop being a complete dick and just accept you got it wrong and stop using the name Hull to refer to City, otherwise you are just doing it to wind other posters up. Don't forget, you are just in essence a plastic, no different to someone from Hull supporting Liverpool etc so accept your place and be thankful you're allowed to post on this board! theres a good lad.
**** off with calling me a plastic that's an absurd accusation unless you don't comprehend what the term plastic truly means. I will call the club by a diminutive of its name as anywhere else in the country or world referring to hull city as "city" makes people think you mean man city. It's an unconscious thing and I've already said it's not intentional. But when people attack me or moronicaly call me plastic as a result I'm not going to stop.
