If they look at our model very closely they'd also realise that we recruited the best players that were available to compliment our young academy players. Players like Frazer Richardson, Radhi Jaidi, Ryan Dickson, Dean Hammond, Danny Butterfield, Lee Barnard, and several more, plus a certain Rickie Lambert, for example, were recruited with purpose. Not just some willy-nilly attempt at getting up the league. And they weren't cheap either. Our Academy crop were made whole by these good solid players. Some of whom went on to be greats in their own ways.
Sounds like a cheap plan B. I think they have a large amount of pain before the silver lining starts showing personally.
It's an interesting project for someone though. Personally, I'm very interested to see how the new boss does...!
To a certain extent it reminds me of Lowe's model in the Championship when Jan Poortvliet was in town. It seemed we played the kids and barely anyone else. The poor things. That actually hurt my head to remember that time.
This was my favourite quote; 'I'd like to be more positive but a coach who has not been in charge of a top team aiming for titles does not have the potential, the authority or the knowledge to lead a national team to victories...but I wish him and the team all the best.' Dummy spat by Dusan, but that's pretty poor to drop a senior player and not tell them
Verified rumour http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...pared-Ashley-Cole-chase-striker-Bas-Dost.html Saints scouting young Walsall under 19 left back Rico Henry. Also mentions Bas Dost as a potential replacement for Graziano
http://www.soka25east.com/wanyama-s...tion-makes-frantic-efforts-fly-guinea-bissau/ Wanyama stuck in Morocco after French Air Traffic strike means he misses his connection. Hope he makes it. He had no choice, but I would never travel on a Bank Holiday because the French always strike then.
Hope it is something minor from Sunday....be real bad luck if he misses out on the chance to impress. Sky describe it as a knock from the Liverpool game.
Poor old Victor. Missed connection due to French ATC, so had to sleep on airport seats in a Moroccan airport. Made it to Senegal and hopefully has got on his early morning connecting flight. Great preparation for his match. Try and get some rest, Vic, before the Leicester game.
https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/austin-hails-incredibly-talented-team-mate-1804486.html Austin praising Long. I think most strikers would like to play along side Shane for the service he can provide....you just have to finish it (are you listening, Dusan).
Just spotted this on Koeman's twitter site, Barcelona wishing him a happy birthday with a video of a free kick.
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/van-dijk-tells-dutch-media-why-southampton-is-so-good Virgil telling Dutch media how much he likes it at Southampton and how Koeman has stopped him dreaming during a match. It's nice having my own thread, but I don't mind company.
