Good Luck FLT. I'm sure security will be even tighter after today's events so hopefully you will be safer than yesterday. :emoticon-0148-yes:

That was my take on it. We have to keep on as normal, despite the grief and sadness of the poor souls and their families who have had their lives taken.

I watched a documentary that was pretty scary as it basically said the IS would never directly attack Europe in a conventional war, it did not need to as many cities in Europe have as many as 40% population Muslim, Brussels included. All they have to do is to wait 10 to 20 years until the muslim have a majority population and then they could elect Muslim councillors who would bring in Islamic law. Muslims do not think politically or nationally which is their main advantage as they are united in one goal, total world domination of the island faith. Even this is the dream of moderate Muslims. Scary that in places like Bradford and Leicester they may not be able to have a pint before the game, or even no game at all.
The IS is very much on the back foot and is loosing ground and have lost their petrol smuggling routes into Turkey, but this is the time that fanatics lash out at soft targets

This is one of the reasons I am against the devolution of Cities....I fear a Muslim majority will change things to suit themselves. The extreme Muslim worldview is incompatible with democracy and freedom. Essential that our freedoms are protected by a central government. My hope is that British Muslims have absorbed our standards and may be less backward than their brethren elsewhere.

That might be stretching the definition of "documentary" slightly. The next mayor of London will probably be a Muslim son of Pakistani immigrants. Life will more or less go on unaffected.

Turkey is 98% Muslim and is a secular state. It is facing the challenge of groups pushing to change that and so far is holding off.

Lazy documentary makers if they suggest there is a single Muslim community "united in one goal". The Shia/Sunni split is far, far wider and much more vicious than the Christian/Muslim split. They will never work together.

There are many reasons why nations go to war such as to gain scarce resources (for example land or oil) and then there is ideology which is the most dangerous reason. This is what WW2 was about with Nazism and the cold war with Communism now it is extremist Islam. It is time for Western Governments to recognise that this is a New World War and it is the defence of freedom and democracy against ignorance and religious bigotry which the West must win at all costs. We must stop pussy footing around Saudi Arabia and their support for extremism. The silence from the middle east over these continuing atrocities fills me with dismay.

Sorry I did not explain that the Sunni majority will either wipe out or force the mass expulsion of the Shia in any lands that are converted to the Islamic law. But I agree it is impossible for Muslims not to fight against each other. Used to work with a hothead that referred to Europeans as crusaders, he had been taught that the Christians had invaded Muslim land, it had never occurred to him that those same lands were Christian and Jewish long before Mohammed

One of the best shows of defiance was in London - 3(?) days after the 7/7 bombings, thousands of people lined the Mall commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII. I thought at the time that it was a wonderful way of sticking two fingers up to the terrorists, remembering true heroism by not showing fear.

Jesus these Batman vs Superman reviews....

    Todd McCarthy, Hollywood Reporter

The film may be imposing, but it's not fun.

    Rene Rodriguez, Miami Herald

In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel duke it out and the audience loses.

    Joshua Rothkopf, Time Out

If there's any justice, dawning or otherwise, at the multiplex, audiences will reject Zack Snyder's lumbering, dead-on-arrival superhero mélange, a $250 million tombstone for a genre in dire need of a break.

    Jim Vejvoda, IGN

BvS is carried by a brutal Batfleck, but as a whole it offers more philosophical drama than superhero escapism.

    The Guardian, Andrew Pulver

It’s tough to take all the hardcore emoting seriously, particularly as the emotional heavy lifting is designed to be done by the occasional maudlin line in brief pauses between the explosions. For a film so concerned with its characters’ inner lives, there’s a fundamental disconnect going on here – enough to make you yearn for the lighter touch of the Marvel films.

    Scott Mendelson, Forbes

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a treat for the eyes, but it will hurt your brain and break your heart.

    Robbie Collin, Telegraph

Marvel can rest easy. Zack Synder's superhero showdown is a meatheaded, humourless mess that makes little sense and squanders its cast - especially the women

    William Bibbiani, CraveOnline

This film has turned all of its great characters into perfunctory plot points, in the service of a plot that doesn't even work well.

    Sean O'Connell, CinemaBlend

An improvement over Man of Steel, and a much better Batman movie than it is a Superman film. The highlights far outweigh the issues, and DC now has a base on which it can build its empire.

    Oscar Uriel, Cinema Movil

The film is a discordant and almost three hour experience. There are some good and bad things, but still better than Man of Steel.

    Uriel Barco, Garuyo

Not only is this a big let down in every sense, it makes you wonder if the rest of the DC Comics films will have the same fate.

I don't get it. Unless Batman has a bucket load of kryptonite it's goodnight nurse within half a second.

How can you make a film last any length at all without Batman having to call cribs every millisecond and having Superman put lead lined specs on and count to 100 really, really slowly, before saying... it's **** your pants time, I'm coming to get you. :)
