How do you find time from your busy life swindling idiots into time shares ponzi and pyramid schemes to write threads of this quality Iain ?
In the running by a country mile this year already GC Poster of the Year 2015, with a mammoth 53% of the vote!
A common misconception. It's true that she invented correction fluid, but not Tippex. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_Paper
Ciaran's great-granny stole the Irish Crown Jewels in 1907, and they've never been recovered. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Crown_Jewels It's rumoured that they've remained in the family to this day, and Ciaran often posts here wearing nothing else.
Oooooft sit back and enjoy the ride, he will not like that one bit. Although, he will argue about it for about 10 pages, which will make this thread better than it actually is. Jip, sticky this!
What do you call "correction fluid" and what do you call "sticky tape"? Tippex and Sellotape respectively I'll hazard, same as just about everyone else, so I'll stand by what I said
Also, in North Lanarkshire at least, we call vacuum cleaners Hoovers. Also, the verb hoovering. Very common to call a group of products by a well known brand name.
You can stand by what you said all day long, but you will still be incorrect. I don't call a vacuum cleaner a hoover, unless it is made by that particular brand and I don't call morphine/opium, heroin unless it is manufactured by Bayer.
