Just somewhere to put stuff during Roy Hodgson's resignation friendlies, really. I'm sure there'll be something worth mentioning at some point.
Anyone got a list of all our players who have been called up by the way? I know we managed to convince Son's manager not to fly him halfway round the world but Lamela has travelled I think. Couldn't find one on the club site when I looked. My guess would be that Hugo, Walker, Rose, Toby, Kane, Lamela, Dier, Dembele, Alli, Eriksen, Wimmer and Davies would be the senior call ups, plus the likes of Winks and Onomah for youth international teams. Not sure about Vorm and Chadli.
The haters are so scared of Spurs winning the PL that they paid muslim nutters to try and kill our Belgian contingent. I assume Toby calmly brought the bombs under control with one touch and booted them into row Z.
I posted this on the Bill Nich, but here it is again: England: Walker, Rose, Dier, Alli, Kane. U20: Winks. U19: Onomah, Walker-Peters. U18: Whiteman, Edwards. Belgium: Alderweireld, Dembele, Chadli, probably half of the rest of the squad next season. France: Lloris. Denmark: Eriksen. Argentina: Lamela. Austria: Wimmer. Wales: Davies. Bit odd that Winks makes the U20s, while Onomah's in the U19s, despite having played more.
My birthday is in the middle of international football tournaments. 21 June 2002. My F***ing birthday! England 1 v 2 Brazil. Due to the tournament being played in Japan and Korea my birthday was ruined by 9.30 am Since then, I couldn't give a **** about international football as it's pretty obvious the players couldn't. Just nobody mention the pony-tailed Gooner in goal okay? I may explode!
Bentaleb injury update: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/first-team/general/nabil-bentaleb-injury-update-220316/? Pretty much out for the season. Shame. Hope he has a better campaign next time, as this one's pretty much been a write-off for him.
Yes, it would great if he can get himself fully fit again and back to his best, so we can see the Bentaleb of last seasons potential.
I think that he's fully capable of challenging for Dembele's place when he's 100%. This season has asked a lot of questions which remain unanswered, unfortunately.
Bentaleb and Pritchard have had important seasons ruined by injury. Pritchard I am more angry about (effing Ingerland duty) , as I would have put money on him having a season akin to what Dele Alli is having.
I think people who want us to offload Bentaleb should perhaps remember what most of us thought about Dembele last season. Similar Mason, who has also had a season ruined by injury we have a great squad and these player are an important part of it IMO.
We also need to make sure that we have enough homegrown and club developed players. Squad cohesion is also important.
I actually like to see England do well, and like seeing our players in the squad. However for these 2 matches I hope that because Harry has already shown that he is the real deal, that Roy gives Vardy both matches, 1 with Welbeck and 1 with Sturridge and that he also gives Danny Drinkwater both matches to give him the best chance to prove his worth! I have bad feeling though that its Harry who will play twice.
Fair point, Spurf - although for my part it was the frustration with Dembele last season, as we knew what he was capable of from his time at Fulham and a few occasional sparks with us. Despite him having a good season with us last year, I don't see Nabs at the same level as Dembele at their best and he will have to continue to develop massively on his return next season to achieve that. Would be great if he manages to do that!
I want to see him give Vardy and Drinkwater 180 minutes pitch time for totally different (less altruistic) reasons!!
