I dunno how I missed this thread. I said something and Cromer linked me here. I agree with your whole opening message. Football here is getting ruined, and there's no help to cure it. It's so depressing, but also, something you can't avoid. EVERY 50/50 decision will go to the big team. The really f*cking annoying thing, is teams like Chelsea are sh*t this year, but refs still go off their past seasons. So they don't get treated like a mid table team. With their millions, they are still treated as a big team, coz its profitable to do so.

Enormous squads and rich teams having dozens of players out on loan for years.

Big teams buying everyone who comes on the market just in case they need them, then moaning about playing too many games when they have a squad costing flucking hundreds of millions just sitting on the bench every week!! Then just to completely take the piss put out a team of school boys for the the beginning of FA, League cup & Europa league games. Money has caused this problem and unfortunately FML is right there is no cure, UNLESS, people of the world cancel your SKY subscriptions!

It's not just football though is it. The world is one giant greed race. There are couples in 4 bed houses with no kids, driving cars that cost £100K who go to michellin starred restaurants, drinking £1000 bottles of champagne, whilst others in this country can't heat their home or are on the street. Then beyond our borders there are people living on rubbish dumps and scavenging for other peoples mildly valuable waste to survive. Football maybe a totem for greed but why should the players have not benefited as "the talent" should the chairmen have got fat and wealthy? Obviously no, some one in governance should have stepped in to say yes we'll sell it abroad for outragious sums if they are fool enough to pay but it must be kept affordable for the common man supporter. But then we are all mugs, we all pay the inflated ticket prices, too many unquestioningly subscribe to Sky sports, I did for a time, but the cost is ridiculous, I don't earn hods of money and to keep paying ludicrous sums to that fat crook from sky and helping inflate the football wage bubble further became something i would not do.
Unfortunitely all of our politicians are posh boys who want to feather their and their friends nests and it all comes at the expense of all of us. The system gets to us all in the end though. Who doesn't want a nicer TV, a better car, a faster computer, a more luxurious holiday, 6 pints of good ale when some can't afford more than a bottle of ****elightning! But that's the point we all busy ourselves with uninportant things and few of us help any one vunerable beyond hopefully at least family members and maybe end up tossing a few quid at a TV appeal. The whole system needs a reboot, when people who can kick a ball around or move money from one account to another can earn kings ransomes, but a Nurse or Soldier or even the person who sells them there over priced shoes can barely get by it's a society of questionable morals.

    Bah!

p.s. If I don't get a like from JK for this one I will have to return to my capitalist greedy ways

I booted mine out ages ago ILD - when they took off CMT I unsubscribed and I never brought the over priced Sports and Movies packages anyway.

Gave up Sky years ago but I have BTsport because it's far better value for money. Several have slagged off BT but I have had no issues at all and have more than enough football and sport in general to watch.

Hi bors, nice one General. I particularly like the reference to our politicians who voted themselves a 10% pay rise and then decide that the handicapped of this country should be further handicapped financially. But then it was only a proposal they say. Shows their thinking, don't it ?

Ok, as I have a pathological hatred for SKY and Murdoch I'm going to ignore BT for now, so KIO gets upgraded to a full point. 299,999,997 to go, I feel momentum building. By the way I have never had SKY or even considered it.

The thing with SKY was that had me and my housemates not had it, we would have almost certainly gone to the pub allot more than the already quite ridiculous ammount that we did. So it actually saved us money back in the day!

    Bah!

And ditto. If you don't get it, have a look at Private Eye this week and the story about Loopert and Leggy - top stuff and very funny.

And going back to the OP, since when have programmes been more expensive than the entrance fee back in the 80's (showing my age again but come on.....)
