People criticise the cost of Carroll but who would be crazy enough to bid that much for this player.... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7064050,00.html I suppose its all about putting him in the transfer window but Aguero going to City is for less than half of that.Sounds ridiculous.Thoughts ?
Key quotes from that story. "His agent claims" "Porto have rejected" Who would reject such a ridiculous offer???
I always thought Falcao was the more attractive proposition of the two strikers at Porto.Im curious if the club will go the same way they did when Mourinho left them a few years back...losing all their top players(especially since AVB is now at chelsea) and having to rebuild.
If this story is true who would it be? My guess is probably Real Madrid who have been looking for a striker, can't see Barca spending that much on another forward. Or as left peg said on Mourinho leaving Porto, could be AVB trying to bring some of Porto's talent to Chelsea? If Man City are set to sign Aguero for £40 odd million I can't see them spending this much for Hulk. Can't think of anyone else.
I reckon it was probably AVB wanting to bring him to Chelsea. He probably spoke to RA and said Hulk was the best around so lets get him!
You could be right, aren't they super rich now? Along with PSG, but I don't think PSG are spending super millions.
I thought it was crazy when Man United paid £31 million for 27 year old Dimitar Berbatov..especially as Spurs over-paid when they paid £10 million for him.
70 mill? ****ing hell (if it's true). Wouldn't want to pay more than 20-25, although the Liverpool inflation rate would make it rise to 30. I could build 17 of the projects i'm on atm. Football prices are just crazy. You get so little back.
The Liverpool inflation rate? It was caused by Man United in 1981 when they paid £1.75 million for a midfielder that wasn't worth £250k.
Perhaps. I would say more Real Madrid. There is no doubt we are paying over the odds for new players though.
Okay it would be unfair to blame Man United solely, because City and Forest and Wolves had something to do with it too. 1977. The record was the £440,000 Liverpool paid Celtic for Kenny Dalglish. In 1979 it was £1 million that Forest paid Birmingham for Trevor Francis. That went up to £1.25 million when Man City bought Steve Daley. That went up to £1.5 million when Wolves signed Andy Gray from Aston Villa. That went up to £1.75 million in 1981 when Man United paid West Brom for Bryan Robson. It took 6 years for it to rise when in 1987,Liverpool paid £1.9 million for Peter Beardsley, however a certain Alex Ferguson offered £3 million for the same player Ron Atkinson let go on a free in 1984.
No ones going to buy hulk for 70m lolz, but hes alot better than carrol, id say carrol is worth 20m in todays ****ed up market? while hulk would be around 35m. hes quite good but falcao is alot better imo that story is BS imo.
Unbiased opinion Throwing in the digs. Bryan Robson was only worth £300k but Man United paid £1.75 million in 1981.
