Well I can understand your curiosity about what goes on at games maybe, but I don't understand your point either so we're even. Edit: Ah so there it is. Still not sure of your point though.
I can't understand most of your points about games and you go .... One day Curtis is an idiot subber , the next he's a subbing genius
Well you must have trouble with the English language. Bucko. You're not one of those Frenchies are you?
Whatever. Your points about booing fans are lost on me because you're pushing at an open door. Like I said, nobody here condones that, but there you go. Probably just trying to make a cheap point. Must be easy to pass judgment on fans who pay hard earned cash to go to games from your armchair 8,000 miles away.
Show me where I said anyone here condones booing , but nice try . I don't need to go to games to know booing fans are sh:t fans Aussie . You can pretend I don't know anything about football or the club I support but you'd only be pretending BUCKO , even from 8,000,000. Last from me , don't want to ruin it any farther ...steer clear and well be fine ....cheers
Why are you going on about the booing if you're not trying to make a point? It's all been said ages ago. I used to go crazy with booing fans back in the 80s before you'd even heard of the Swans. I've never said you don't know anything about football or the club you support. Show me where I said that, but nice try. I think it's great that with successs the Swans have expanded their worldwide fan base. What the **** happened to you, man? Age? Seems to me you're looking to make daft points about how great our poor manager is and when you're called out on them and proved wrong you lash out. Calm down, bucko, you'll live longer and that has to be a good thing. You do seem to have a bug up your ass with me so maybe stay clear as you say. You're going to miss me though.
The way we have played football at home has not warranted the great support the fans have given all season and sometimes just sometimes like after the dismal display against villa in the first half justified a section of the support to Boo the players off at HT. How else are the fans to make a valid point that they are not happy. It's no good complaining after the match is it, The fans were right on this occasion to show their frustration......Booing has a place but not at individuals ...
Well put, Dai. Like I said before I don't think any of us like booing but I can understand it. Not my thing because it's counter-productive but we're not all the same are we.
Maybe , maybe not , I see the same fans home and away . The booing has risen it's ugly head this season, I wonder why that is ? could it be that the players although spouting the usual dribble in the press constantly under perform when undertaking basic tasks like passing a ball to a team mate or putting one foot in front of the other slightly faster than at walking pace . I may have felt like it but I do not and never have booed .
Our away support is probably one of the best in the PL. I've only missed the odd away game in 5 seasons and have seen nothing but positivity, never heard booing, our fans are always loud and positive and singing their hearts out, often drowning out the home fans.
Credit to you, Keith. But I dislike these divisive points on fans vs fans. Who is the better fan? One who supported the Swans for years and who bought a ST despite not being able to afford it, or an away fan who only became interested in the Swans when we got to the Prem? What about fans like me who remember dragging their kids along on howling winter nights down the Vetch when we were playing the likes of Halifax and Torquay? I also went to away games at places like Barnet. Does that make me better than anyone else? Of course it doesn't. There are no fans better than anyone else, it's just that our stories are different. Yes, the 'Plastics' have joined our ranks in recent years but they've been attracted by good football (sometimes) and the big names but are still good supporters - for now at least. If we still only had a hard core of fans we'd have crowds of 5,000 if we're lucky. That's the way of things. Some nights down the Vetch we had under 2,000. Where were they all back then? Our away support is great of course but there are a whole number reasons why someone can't go to away games - cost, domestic situations, etc. I don't go to many away games these days, I've done my time. But that doesn't make me less of a fan.
I don't agree with or would never boo my team however badly they perform. On the subject of away fans not booing that is correct because we have had 10 years of unprecedented success but if you went back further than that you would have heard booing at times from our away fans.
Wasn't trying to turn this into home vs away fans , only that it's easier for half hearted newfound fans that arrived since we came up to infiltrate home games within the good home fans . None of them would show that kinda commitment to going to away games and will disappear if we go down . And if we do go down , the away fans will still be away fans imo , It only takes a small % of home fans to make a home team find dejection on the pitch by negative non support
I don't get the chance to go way as often as I would like as my sons football. I have watched the swans away from home for I don't know how many years and I didn't see a goal for at least 3 of those until I saw Tony Bird score midweek away at Brentford in a 4 1 defeat. I agree with Kiff and we shouldn't be comparing one with the other. whoever is in the ground and has paid the entrance fee has as much right to be called a fan as the next as long as they support the Swans of course. As for away fans not booing I think the difference for me here is as swans fans we probably don't expect that much away, so it is about being in the minority and sticking together and letting people know who we are. Whilst at home maybe we expect a little more.
Oh no they wont, the numbers will half, if you believe that some of these so called plastics haven't jumped on the wagon away from home as well you are mistaken. I know many people who have never been to the Liberty and just try and get tickets to big away games.
My only comparison is SOME newfound home fans , a small group of super negative fans that don't exist with away fans .
If there that committed to go to away games lefty , even if they go to home games ....my guess is they don't boo edit...EDIT ...of course your right lefty , what I was trying to say whoever the away fans that remain won't boo . Jeez , I just want the players to more comfortable for home games by less negativity , even Monk had problems with that near the end of his reign
