Feel like autos won't happen anymore but a little hope remains for two reasons.

Boro burnley and Brighton all play each other, although that can easily backfire in the last week if one team is already champion and we need them to beat the other (burnley vs boro)

And also being superstitious, usually I hate international breaks, they seem to **** up the momentum we have when we are playing well.
well here's to hoping it does the same and gets us freshened
Up and on a good run.

There's still time to go on a good 6 game run...

Basically this. If we go up it will be in spite of Bruce, not because of him.

I often wonder what would happen if the players just pinned their ears back and went for it in games, contrary to Bruce's instructions.

Wasn't it Davies who revved the players up in the semi final against Sheff United and Bruce just sat back? Need a bit of that this year. Dawson or someone just taking everyone by the scruff of the neck and hauling them over the line.

Since 13th Feb when we beat Blackburn 0-2 we have scored 3 goals in 9 games. What I want to know is what has Bruce has been doing everyday in training to rectify this ? I've said before how can Bruce, who only ever played as a defender, effectively coach our strikers how to finish & bury the ball ? He's clueless about striking so how do we expect him to sort this issue out ? If he's not capable of doing it himself then he has to get someone in ASAP (ie Teddy Sheringham or a retired ex Premiership striker) as a striker coach to take extra training sessions every day ( the first thing Benitez has done at Newcastle is introduce double training sessions ). There are still 9 games to go & with the squad Bruce has at his disposal we are perfectly capable of taking an automatic promotion spot. If we fail then that is due to massive ineptitude by Bruce . He has to earn his huge salary by going back to the drawing board & coming up with an answer to this problem. ie playing 2 strikers by either reverting to 3-5-2 or 4-4-2. Try Maguire up front holding the ball up/winning knockdowns for Hernandez to run onto ? Sticking with 4-4-1-1 & playing midfielders as strikers is not going to work. Hernandez will score with his head or his feet if he is given decent service & has another striker up front with him to pull defenders away from him to give him space.

I stand to be corrected but I think our glorious leader has said, that due to the hectic schedule there is very little training between matches going on… I think we should employ Djokovichs coach and conditioner… or any of the top tennis guys who's anaerobic effort is sometimes 5 hours and then they get up andy play the next day!!!

I don't think any of our lads would follow Djokovics regime from what I read of it previously, sounds about as Spartan as you can get.

I understand the recent hectic match schedule but surely, as a minimum, the least strenuous training/learning that should be done, is working on throw ins and tactical/inventive corner routines as a way of scoring. Our throw ins do my head in! I don't know why we bother, more often than not it goes straight to the opposition, we can't seem to make anything from throw ins. I don't get too excited about corners also. I would hope these are things to work on in training? I can't remember the last inventive/successful corner routine from City, very frustrating.

CF...don't disagree with you very often but heard calls for Maguire to be recalled .....to play where?? He is a centre back and Daws and Curtis have the best record in the league, Others have said midfield or up front...lead of bollOx. He is a centre back, learning his trade. He has done okay, shown some flair, but also been caught out, He wont improve what we have which in reality is very good for his primary position. Its not the defense we need to worry about.

Same old would have Elmo rwb wouldn't it. I wouldn't want to waste Snodgrass by having him up and down all game, don't think it would suit him either.
I agree that we need a change of shape, especially away from home because we need to start dominating the midfield area whilst also having 2 up front.

He wouldn't be. I like the continental idea of playing to strengths so Robertson adopts a LWB role, Snodgrass plays more as a RW - the defensive midfield and defenders are coached to accommodate this. If done right it allows a real draw-down on a player's ability and can be really effective at disrupting defences and allowing a pair of strikers to run amok. It's not something that would crop up on the MDT.

I would have thought that a manager noting the oppositions strengths and weaknesses and adapting his tactics accordingly can win matches.
