Btw, did those who were there and stayed to the end, I thought Klopp was very classy at the end. He wandered onto the pitch, he thanked his supporters but he also shook hands with our players who had lingered. A nice touch. I'm not sure that he is a great manager; the next few seasons will show that. But I like his style and in these days of diving and dissent he really is a breath of fresh air.
He is dour that's for sure. Likes to try and sell our players as well. Mind you that's fair game to lots of 'pundits'.
Singled Benteke out for a bollocking though....lot of people picked up on that. The time to judge Klopp is when he has a team in his own image and has cleared out the ones he doesn't want. However, I agree that I'd rather watch him being interviewed than most managers. Van Gaal does my head in.
The match report in the Mail with lots of nice pics. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ightback-Reds-four-hopes-dealt-huge-blow.html
Quote from the Mirror match report. Koeman, 53 on Monday, has not moved so fast since he fled the scene of the crime after his professional foul on David Platt denied England a place at the 1994 World Cup finals.
Quotes from Van Gaal on BBC web site: "We have seen the result from Southampton today. Liverpool were 2-0 up at half-time and at full-time it was 3-2 to Southampton. "I have not seen the match but I can only conclude it was because of tiredness and that is what we have done to them." Following the Utd v Liverpool game in midweek.
Nothing to do with Saints then. However (much as I would hate to support van Gaal if he said the grass was green), a pundit remarked that Liverpool have lost a lot of points from winning positions under Klopp...perhaps reflecting that the present team aren't suited to his attacking style and tire. As I said elsewhere, the time to judge Klopp is when he has his own team.
Man City looked fairly distracted yesterday, in fact so much so that it leads me to conclude that they only lost against Utd because the have one eye on a very important fixture coming up on the 1st May. Why thank you.
( to the tune of Leaving of Liverpool) So fare thee well, our old false friends For today smiling we will be, It's not the beating of Liverpool that pleases me, But Lallana when I think of thee Strangely, my 4 red passengers in the car yesterday didn't think this amusing.
Oh so it wasn't anything to do with the fact we scored 3 but they only got 2 then? So does Van Gaal think we owe him a favour then?
