Sadly, I have to agree with you (better bookmark this, it must be a first). Skrtel was ****, but anyone thinking it was all down to him is letting their prejudices blind them to the truth. I said straight after the game it was a problem of attitude. Complacency crept in after half an hour when we were walking the game. Saints improved and slowly took control and we didn't seem to see it happening until too late. I know most of our fans disagree with me and just want to blame a few of the usual individuals but that's too simplistic for me.

Like I said, I didn't see the full game so can only comment on the bits I have seen. It seems to me that a certain person got all the blame and it just wasn't so.
You have just missed off the best CH you have, Toure. Yes his legs have gone but he reads the game so much better than any of the others and his positional sense helps to make up for the slow legs.
He's sure got a better head than all the others, it's a shame his body is old(er) and can't still take advantage of that, as y'know, blokes get wiser as they get on in years (supposedly) ... do you know any age-reversing techniques he can try ... I love Kolo, much nicer than his brother. I used to sit with my son and nephew watching the Arsenal games and waiting for him to have his one marauding run and shot, he did it every game and was well worth paying to see

Have you forgotten how many times we were **** when he wasn't playing? We were steadily improving but I'm putting that down to the defence getting more familiar and more organised. I'm not defending him today, I've said he was poor- my point is that that wasn't the only factor. Like all of us, I want my team to succeed, and to me that means looking as objectively as possible at the performance and not just looking for the factors that reinforce my pre-conceived ideas. I think we all (me included) thought that game was won after the disallowed goal, but the team went down a gear in concentration before Skrtel was even on the pitch and that was a major contributory factor, imo. Everyone points out that we were 2-0 up at half time, but the momentum had dropped and Saints were slowly gaining the initiative. I felt that at the time- it isn't just hindsight, but I expected us to shift back up again and it didn't really happen.
I blank that **** out. It's what my PTSD counsellor advises. Tells me to do the same for the whole season
