I didn't watch or listen. Can anyone give a quick summary of what happened? I guess we didn't play well but it was it a bit of a freak game?
It was freaky only because we got the battering our ****e play has deserved nearly every game since Evans started the anti football.
wasnt bit of a freak game it went as expected Did i mention there was only one winner on the votes poll
Personally, seeing the line up, I think Evans got too big for his boots after three wins in a row and decided he could 'rest' players against Huddersfield, midfield of Murphy and Mowatt is exceptionality slow.
Evans was looking for an excuse to play Murphy. He had promised him game time after not bringing him on after last Saturday's win. Evans told for Yorkshire Evening Post over the weekend that Murphy was unlucky not to get any game time but would get his chance shortly after impressing during training
Evans came out & said that Diagouraga & Cook were effectively 'rested'. I believe he mentioned a 'niggle' for the former & 'exhaustion' for the latter. I go along with Noel Whelan - they could have had a rest next week. If they were that tired, why were they on the bench, and perhaps more importantly, why were they trained all week? Murphy did ok, inasmuch that I don't believe Diagouraga replacing him would have made a difference. Mowatt was awful, and even if he was at his best, he was not the right choice. This was an attritional match, being a derby, and for that you need your best ball-winners, and a bit of pace to do that ball-winning. He has neither of these qualities, and should never have been considered. Why did we lose the game? It wasn't down to selection, tbh. Nor wasn it down to tactics. It was down to Huddersfield being hungrier than us. They wanted to win. They wanted the ball. They hunted in packs to achieve this & it worked. We were all over the place, particularly in the second half. The concept of 'team' didn't exist. We had 11 individuals. And that has been the problem all season. Nothing to do with the coach. Nothing to do with the owner. It's the players. They are consistently inconsistent, if you know what I mean. They are not a team. That is why I long for next season & Evans getting his own players in. He knows he doesn't have a team (and can't come out & say it or they'd be even worse!). I believe he may be able to remedy this as well, if not better than, most other managers.
Not saying you're wrong but Evans changed a winning team and the end result was? And WJ, please don't turn into LL, not every comment means you have to go into a major defence of Cellino.
Not defending Cellino. He wasn't playing. What I'm saying is that even with the same team, we might have been exactly the same. There are times when we just don't turn up as a team, and this was one of those occasions. Yes, Bamba made horrible mistakes again, but it was the team who lost this. It's truly mystifying.
LoL, no malice pal, Only time I go into defending Cellino mode is when you, and others direct the replies to me having a go at Cellino. Maybe I, and others could say, Please don't turn into LoL, not every comment means you have to berate Cellino......
Take a chill pill. We're midway in table, as expected from start of season. Almost every team have regular daft results in this crap league. They're all second rate footballers anyway, what do we expect, otherwise they'd be playing in the pl. time some people realised exactly what the championship really is
