Is that what they call a game of 2 halves? Don't know what's already been said, but I thought we were dead and buried at half time. I may be slightly biased but I thought the early penalts shout was a definite from where I was sat. Big Vic was immense, Romeu continues to impress and Ron's run down the touchline after the winner went in, will remain with me for a very long time. I've booked a hangover for tomorrow.
What a day. Three things you can't afford to do when you're playing Liverpool; 1) Give Coutinho any space just outside the box 2) Stand off Sturridge on the edge of the box 3) Get thrown a lifeline in the form of a penalty, then squander the opportunity. If you do those three things, there's no way you're coming back from 2-0 down to win the game. Can't happen. Unless your manager is Ronald Koeman, and he brings on Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama to completely change the game. And unless, having missed said penalty, Sadio Mane suddenly morphs into the world class striker we all knew he was capable of being all along. That said, with a front three of Pelle, Mane and Long, maybe miracles are all part of the service.
I am sure that I only really want to see the second half, but I hope that Ronald makes the team watch both. It was a marvellous comeback with some sublime goals and I loved being there. Work to do though. I think it's just possible that the Lallana Panto-villain thing may be subsiding as well- provided Lovren is on the pitch anyway. A very happy drive home.
It's always dangerously inaccurate to judge noise at a game from TV coverage. So much of what you hear is down to microphone placement.
No matter where the microphone was, you could hear the Saints fans make one hell of a din throughout the entire second half.
I get that, obviously. However I haven't really heard anyone tell me otherwise that the atmosphere for most of the first half was dead, barring the Dejan Lovren chants. This doesn't really need to be discussed though because we've just beaten Liverpool 3-2 from 2-0 down and that's pretty ****ing excellent, but I understand.
Well done today... one of the best ways to win a game. Frustrating for us that we imploded again, individual errors again etc. But you capitalised so fair play. Should've wrapped it up first half... very hard to take!
The Chapel West area really gave Lala some stick in the first half, he vacated that area and didn't venture back.
Think it was down to Lovren going off and Skrtel coming on. Skrtel is awful. Only plays well in big games. Scores a big goal and does a slide tackle every while and calls himself a centre-back. We are brittle as it is without him. Joke performance second half.
Well just got back. Wow. ****ing wow! Wow. Wow. My head hurts. I'm sat here stunned. I don't know what to say. Brilliant. Vic - won't be missed? Don't need him? People giving him a lift to the airport? We need Vic. What a presence. Mane - oh you lovely boy! Pelle owed us that goals because he'd been shocking for 75% of the afternoon. What a strike. Boom! Ron - arise you beauty. What tactical brilliance. Fans were great second half. Ps great to meet Mrs Richie and I only hope that 1. She found a loo in time and 2. My Dad didn't scare her off. I'm loving these little not606 meet ups. Some really great people.
